TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy on Sunday morning commenced the polio drops immunization programme in front of Tirumala temple by administering polio drops to infants and children below five years of age.
TTD has set up 25 centres for the immunization program at Tirumala for the sake of both devotees and locals. The program will continue till 6pm on Sunday.
Civil Surgeons Dr B Kusuma Kumari, Dr S Kusuma Kumari, Head Nurses Smt Krishna Kumari, Smt Savitramma, and other Medical, Para Medical staff were also present.
With the support of TTD mandarins, the Ayurveda wing of TTD has brought in several revolutionary reforms in recent times and is set to be a part of the three-day national conference, Ayur PARVA 2023 jointly organised by Ministry of AYUSH and Akhila Bharata Ayur Sammelan from October 27-29 in the Kachapa Auditorium in Tirupati, said Dr Renu Dixit, Principal(FAC) and the Medical Superintendent of SV Ayurvedic hospital of TTD and in-charge of Sri Srinivasa Ayurvedic Pharmacy.
Briefing the media about the activities of the Ayurvedic department of TTD at the Media Centre on Tuesday, the Ayur doctor said, with an aim to protect the ancient medical system and sustain it for future generations, TTD has established SV Ayurvedic College about four decades ago. In the last couple of years, especially post Covid, the TTD's Ayurvedic department donned a new avatar and today the number of patients undergoing treatment has reached 500 per day in the SV Ayur Hospital and the average patients in a year touched one lakh mark now, she added.
She said, the State of Art Panchakarma, treatments for Cerebral palsy, neuromotor, paralysis etc. gained pace post Covid and today there is a waiting list of patients for treatment which shows the credibility they developed towards our treatment, she observed. Briefing about the Ayur expo at the Brahmotsavam Exhibition, she said, as a unique feature, this time Hirudo Therapy(leech therapy)-the ancient ayurvedic treatment is also displayed, chief plants with medicinal value belonging to each state are also displayed which is garnering the attention of the visiting pilgrims.
"Already 60 Ayur products produced by us got the AYUSH Ministry approval and another 100 medicines are under pipeline. Another interesting feature is that the strength of the girl students has also increased. The TTD board has recently sanctioned Rs.14cr development works for the hospital to take it to new heights", she added.

He was participating in a 10-day cancer awareness and training program for screening tests organised by Sri Padmavati Mahila Medical College from July 13-22 for community health officers (CHO), Mid Level Health Providers (MLHP) of the Tirupati district.
Addressing them as chief guest of the training session the TTD EO said annually seven lakh persons die of cancer and early screening and diagnosis helps in treatment.
He also said lifestyle format like food and exercise are crucial methods to avert cancer. The fast food and junk food culture is the main cause and the ancient knowledge embedded in Patanjali Maharshi Yoga shastra had solutions.
He said the SV Vedic University will soon organise another training program on Yoga and its solutions for cancer etc.
The EO also said cancer can be avoided by consuming organic cow-based farm products and appealed CHOs, MLHPs, spread the awareness in villages.
TTD will support the state government campaign to make every district cancer free by setting up three cancer identification centres in each district with the support of doctors and other infrastructure.
District Collector Sri Venkataramana Reddy said preliminary estimate revealed that 10% of the district population are cancer prone and hence efforts made to take cancer screening to every door steps and provide treatment.
He said in coordination with Tata cancer institute, SVIMS and district administration training modules of screening and treatment are prepared and both TTD Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy and TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy extended all their support.
He appealed to ANMs and Volunteers to get everyone screened at the Pink buses provided by TTD with specialist doctors and also a software is prepared to identify the patients
The collector urged everyone to strive to make Tirupati District cancer free.
TTD JEO ( Education and Health) and Director of SVIMS Smt Sada Bhargavi said TTD has plans to set up permanent centres at Gudur, Srikalahasti and Chandragiri and that the program has the full support of AP Chief Secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy, TTD Chairman and TTD EO.
She said 1500 women workers of TTD underwent cancer screening and urged the CHO and volunteers to influence all village women to undergo early screening for treatment.

Inaugurating the three-day Operative Arthoplasty Summit at the Grand Ritz hotel on Friday in the temple city, the EO said such summits are usually rarely be conducted in the country with just 10-12 live surgery sessions. But the BIRRD summit has scheduled 22 live surgeries in three days by top 20 Ortho surgeons of the country and nearly 200 surgeons are attending the summit.
He said such conferences promote exchange of skills and new concepts and expands the horizons of medical history in the country.
The BIRRD hospital is conducting several such critical operations including cerebral palsy surgeries free of cost and medical exponents from across the country have been visiting Tirupati and extending their services for whom TTD provides free accommodation, transport, food besides Srivari Darshan.

TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy on Friday directed officials to introduce telemedicine services in the Nephrology wing of SVIMS super speciality hospital to provide online advice and Medicare to kidney patients.
He went round the Nephrology and Urology wards in SVIMS along with the TTD JEO Smt Sada Bhargavi and SVIMS Director Dr Vengamma and inspected the Inpatient wards, Dialysis and ICU wards.
After that, doctors informed the EO of demand for dialysis bags, following which he immediately spoke to Dr Chandrasekhar Reddy, Chairman of APMSIDC and requested him to fulfil the demand for dialysis bags at SVIMS.
Among others, during his interaction with the patients TTD EO assured assistance to procure pensions for Dialysis patients and also spoke to Medical students in SVIMS on the quality of breakfast and meals being provided to them in the SVIMS hostel canteen.
During his review with HODs of SVIMS, EO instructed the officials to streamline hospital administration and engineering works with special software and complimented the excellent performance of the Nephrology and Urology wings.

The TTD-run super specialty hospital of SVIMS, BIRRD and SPCHC are the centres of hope for the country with their world-class standards of medical services, said Dr Minu Bajpayee, the Executive Director of National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences(NBEMS).
Dr Bajpayee along with the TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy and JEO for Health and Education Smt Sada Bhargavi visited the SPCHC and BIRRD hospitals in Tirupati on Thursday.
Later speaking to the media persons at BIRRD he lauded the committed services of TTD in the area of patient care by establishing world-class hospitals with expert doctors who are rendering impeccable services to the needy. "This entire region is really fortunate to have such state of art hospitals with international standards. These hospitals are Centres of hope to the nation in the field of medicine", he asserted.
Dr Bajpayee expressed immense happiness over the services of SPCHC for doing over 1300 heart operations to the children including Heart Transplantation.
He also complimented BIRRD for knee cap transplants and treatment of other Ortho ailments at the institute.
Briefing about the NBEMS activities he said the NBEMS aims at promoting fellowships in specialists, skill development and the union health ministry has provided 14 fellowships so far which will be granted in May besides providing training in Artificial Intelligence and Mission Learning.
He complimented both the Director of SPCHC Dr Srinath Reddy and his team and the OSD BIRRD, Dr Reddeppa Reddy and his team for carrying out the surgeries with finesse and expertise with commitment.

With a motto to give a boost to the ancient Ayurvedic Medicine, TTD has constructed new pharmacy building besides renovating the old ones to bring more and more Ayurvedic products to the public fore, said TTD Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy.
Speaking to the media after inaugurating the new pharmacy building in Sri Srinivasa Ayurvedic Pharmacy at Narasingapuram along with TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy on Friday, the Chairman said in 1990 TTD has established Ayurvedic Pharmacy in a sprawling 14.75acres land.
"Initially only ten products used to be produced from this pharmacy which has now enhanced to 80.
With an aim to promote Ayurvedic medicine further, we have constructed a new pharmacy building and renovated old ones at Rs. 3.90cr.
With this facelift, henceforth Rs. 5cr worth products will be manufactured every year as against the 1.5cr products which used to be earlier. "Now we can distribute our Ayur medicines to Ayush pharmacies in the state of AP apart from TTD requirements, he added.
Very soon a Drug Testing Lab will also be set up and TTD is contemplating bringing the Ayur products to the public.
In future we are gearing up to manufacture 314 more products'', he maintained.

An exercise is underway to manufacture 314 new medicines from TTD Ayurveda Pharmacy in Narasingapuram soon, said TTD JEO(H&E) Smt Sada Bhargavi.
Along with the officials, the JEO inspected the expansion works of the Ayurvedic Pharmacy at Narasingapuram on Saturday evening. Speaking on this occasion she said that in the first phase, a new shed will be opened on March 31, which will be equipped with advanced machines to manufacture 10 types of medicines.
She said the management has decided to manufacture additional 314 types of medicines to provide modern medicine to the patients. According to this, the pharmacy is being developed with Rs.5 crores, she said. She said that 30 types of medicines are currently being produced in the pharmacy. Recently 314 drug formulas have received certification from AYUSH.
JEO said that apart from providing medicines manufactured in SV Ayurveda Pharmacy to patients in TTD Ayurveda Hospital, the Ministry of AYUSH has given permission to the government to pay 50 percent of the production cost of the medicines.
Earlier, the JEO inspected the installation of new machines and the sheds constructed in the premises of the pharmacy. Various instructions were given to the officials by JEO regarding the raw materials required for the 10 types of products to be launched on 31st, as well the engineering department regarding arches, sign boards, catalog etc.
