March 14: Governor of Andhra Pradesh
and Telangana Sri E.S.L. Narasimhan appreciated the efforts of Sri Mamidi
Harikrishna, Director of Culture, Telangana Government, for bringing out
excellent books on Telangana Culture and traditional art forms. Sri Harikrishna
presented the Governor a set of books brought out by the Department of Culture,
focusing mainly on dying art forms of Telangana such as Patam kathalu, a book
on little known art forms, a book with exclusive poetry on environment and
greenery, a book depicting life story and selected works of Jnanapith Awardee
Dr. C. Narayana Reddy. Sri Harikrishna also informed th
e Governor that in order
to popularise the works of Telangana writers in other parts of the country, a
book of selected poems in Hindi and a book of selected short stories in English
of famous writers of the region, have also been brought out by the department.
