Grand Peta Utsavam at Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Vari Temple











The Sri Kodandarama Swamy vari Peta Utsavam in Tirupati was held on Thursday in a grand manner. 


On the occasion of Magha Pournami, it is customary to parade the utsava idols of  Sri Kodandarama Swamy vari along with Sri Seetha Lakshmana in a procession to Kupuchandrapet village.

The ceremonial idols of Swami and his consorts left the temple at 6 am and reached Kupuchandrapet, 8 km from Tirupati, at 8.30 am. There, Snapana Thirumanjanam was performed in a grand manner from 10 am to 11.30 am. Later Unjal seva was performed from 4 pm to 5 pm and the idols returned to Sri Kodandaramaswami temple thereafter.

This festival is held every year on the occasion of Magha Masam Pournami. In the procession of the Lord in the morning and evening, bhajans and kolatas were performed under the auspices of TTD Hindu Dharma Prachar Parishad and Dasasahitya Projects.

Tirumala pontiffs Sri Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, and Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, Deputy EO Smt. Nagaratna, AEO Sri Ravi, Superintendent Sri Muni Shankar, other officials and a large number of devotees were present t.
