TTD Executive Officer Sri Muddada Ravichandra on Thursday released the posters and brochures for the annual Sri Kodandarama Swamy Pavitrotsavams, scheduled to be held from August 7 to 10 at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Tirupati. The event took place at Sri Padmavathi Guest House, Tirupati.
The festivities will commence on August 7 with Ankurarpanam, including Vedic rituals such as Medini Puja, Mrutsangrahanam, and Ankurarpanam.
Pavitrotsavams are performed every year to preserve the sanctity of the temple and to atone for any ritual lapses that may occur unknowingly during daily worship or by devotees and temple staff.
The three-day rituals will feature Pavitra Pratishtha, Pavitra Samarpana, Vedic homams, Snapana Tirumanjanam, daily Tiruveedhi Utsavams, and will conclude with Poornahuti.
Devotees can participate as Grihasthas (couples) by paying ₹500. Participants will receive one Uttariyam, one Ravike, and a Pavitram as prasadam on the concluding day.
TTD's Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad and Annamacharya Project will organise daily spiritual discourses and devotional music programmes during the festival.
TTD JEO Dr. A. Sharath, Deputy EO Smt. B. Nagaratna, Superintendent Sri K. Srinivasulu Reddy, Temple Inspector Sri A.M. Suresh Babu, temple priests, and other officials were present.
