Grand Commencement of Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Vari Teppotsavams







The Teppotsavam (float festival) of Sri Kodandarama Swamy began grandly on Monday at the Sri Ramachandra Pushkarini in Tirupati.


On the beautifully decorated float illuminated with electric lights, the Lord and His consorts were seated and graced devotees by circling the temple pond five times. A large number of devotees attended and offered camphor harati.


As part of the festivities, from 8:00 to 9:30 in the morning, the ritual Snapan Tirumanjanam was performed for the deities Sri Kodandarama Swamy along with Sita and Lakshmana, using milk, curd, honey, sandal paste, and coconut water.


The festival idols of Sri Sita, Rama, and Lakshmana were then brought to the Ramachandra Pushkarini. In the evening, from 7:00 to 8:00, the Teppotsavam was conducted. On the float, adorned with dazzling electric lights, the deities were seated and circled the pond five times, blessing the devotees.


Deputy EO Smt. Nagaratna, Temple Inspector Sri Suresh, other officials, and a large number of devotees participated in the event.
