Plavanama Commences on A FruitFul Note in Tirumala

 Tirumala, 13 Apr. 21: On the auspicious occasion of Plavanama Ugadi, the Garden wing of TTD made spectacular floral decorations which caught the attention of devotees on Tuesday. 

 

Starting from the entrance of the temple till Golden Threshold, the dioramas made of fruits, flowers brought an aesthetic feel of Bhooloka Vaikuntha to the pilgrims.

 

Matching the occasion, splendid decorations were made in a big way with tonnes of varieties of traditional flowers and thousands of cut flowers. Florists, curtlery artists from Karnataka and AP done decorations with innovative concepts.

 

On the whole eight tonnes of traditional flowers, 70thousand cut flowers were donated by donors from Hyderabad, Salem while decorations were done by artistes from Vijayawada and Bengaluru.

 

This year unique dioramas using Janur art for the first time were displayed which stood as special attraction. Janur art is one where the floral decorations are made using Coconut leaves as the supportive background over a steel mesh. 

 

The roof of Dhwaja Mandapam was decked with Tooti-Frooti sky with varieties of fruits, flowers hanging colourfully. Another special attraction was the of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy made of Navadhanayas. The Dasavataras in watermelon also remained a cynosure inside temple while the elephants, Sri Krishna Leela out side temple caught the attention of pilgrims.

 

Garden Superintendent of TTD Sri Srinivasulu supervised the arrangements.
