Alamelumanga Brahmotsava Vaibhavam - Curtain Raiser to Sri Padmavati Annual Fete

Tiruchanur, 11 Nov. 17: The annual Navahnika Karthika Brahmotsavams in the famous temple of Goddess Sri Padmavathi Devi is all set commence from November 15 which will last up to November 23 showcasing her divine splendour and grandeur.

MAHALAKSHMI INCARNATION

On the lines of Tirumala Srivari Brahmotsavams, Lord Brahma, the Creator had the privilege of having performed the first festival for Goddess and hence named after him as "Brahmotsavams".

It is believed that Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi incarnated on the auspicious day of Friday on Panchami Tithi in Vijaya LAGNA Uttaradhada Nakshatram during Suklapaksha in the month of Karthika in a 1000-petal lotus flower as 16-year beautiful girl in Padma Sarovaram, the holy temple tank.

"PADMA" AS PREFIX FOR HER DIVINE NAMES

Since she appeared in the golden lotus she is revered by various names, as Padmalaye, Padmahasta, Padmapriye, Padmini, Padmasini, Padmavathi, Padmaja and many more sacred names with Padma as prefix.

"SARVA SWATANTRA LAKSHMI" VAHANA SEVA VAIBHAVAM

In Tirumala Lord Sri Malayappa takes ride along with His Consorts on Kalpavriksha, Sarvabhupala, Mutyapupandiri, Swarna Ratham and Rathotsavam while Goddess Padmavathi Devi as "Sarva Swatanta Lakshmi" takes ride on all vahanams all alone displaying her elegance.

It will be a visual spectacle for the devotees to watch the divine Mother taking pleasure ride on various vahanams with royalty showcasing her grandeur during these nine days.

Senior Citizens and Physically Challenged Persons Darshan on Nov 1th and 21st

Tirumala, 11 November 2017: To provide darshan of Lord Venkateswara to more number of senior citizens (above 65years) and specially abled persons, TTD will issue four thousand tickets to the pilgrims falling under this category on November 14 and 21.

The tickets will be issued in three slots with 1000 tickets during 10am, 2000 tickets at 2pm and another 1000 tickets by 3pm on these two days.

TTD has introduced this system in August this year and darshan will be given to this category pilgrims on any two lean days in a month.
