Children’s Day celebrated at Raj Bhavan





















Raj Bhavan became the hub of activity on Tuesday, with school children of various schools reaching here to greet the Governor and the Lady Governor on the occasion of Children's Day.  As many as 400 school children drawn from 30 schools in Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Rangareddy and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts gathered at the Raj Bhavan, as part of the Children’s Day celebrations. Governor Sri E.S.L. Narasimhan and the Lady Governor Smt. Vimala Narasimhan mingled with the tiny tots and interacted with the school children.

On this occasion, Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University have arranged photo exhibition at the Raj Bhavan premises, for the benefit of visiting school children. The school children went around the exhibition and evinced keen interest in the various exhibits set up by the Agricultural University, showcasing special seed varieties of Telangana State, soil types and nutrients, natural color preparation, organic farming, steps taken for crop protection, crop varieties etc. The exhibition also contained exhibits on horticulture varieties of tissue culture plants, aromatic and medicinal plants, kitchen garden, fruit varieties etc. Food pyramid displayed in the horticulture exhibition stood as a special attraction.
Dr. V. Praveen Rao, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, explained to the Governor on various research activities undertaken by the University with specific emphasis on locally grown varieties.
The Governor appreciated the initiatives taken up by the University and informed the Vice Chancellor to make the common varieties of  agriculture and horticulture available to the common people at affordable rates.
Twenty five-member contingent belonging to Jain Group of Institutions (JGI), which created a World Record recently for being the largest school contingent to scale the Mt. Everest Base Camp, received special appreciation from the Governor. The Governor complimented Ms. Jaahnavi Sriperambuduru, the youngest mountaineer and guide of India, for successful trekking expedition to Mt. Everest Base Camp in October this year under her guidance and the supervision of her father Dr. Krishna Rao. Ms. P. Varshini, 13 years old daughter of an officer working in the Raj Bhavan, was also part of the successful trekking expedition to Mt. Everest Base Camp. Governor wished that the young children will take up the challenge and achieve the trekking expedition to the peak of Mt. Everest soon.

One Crore Donated

Tirumala, 14 November 2017: Sri TK Balaji, the Chief of Chennai based firm Lucas TVS has donated Rs.one crore to the SV Veda Parirakshana Trust of TTD on Tuesday.

The Chief Financial Officer of the firm Sri AR Rajagopalan has formally met Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju in later's bungalow and donated the cheque for the same on behalf of his firm chief.

Laksha Kumkumarchana Performed at Sri Padmavati Ammavari Temple

Tiruchanoor, 14  November  2017: Laksha Kumkumarchana' was performed on a grand note at Sri Padmavathi Devi temple in Tiruchanur on Tuesday.The ritual is performed before the commencement of mega religious event of nine day 'Kartheeka Brahmotsavams' which is set to commence from Wednesday onwards.

The ritual began at 8 a.m. and concluded at 12 noon at the Mukha Mandapam located opposite Sri Krishna Swamy temple , where the processional deity of goddess Padmavathi was seated on 'asan'. The priests chanted the 1000 divine names of Goddess for ten times during this fete.

TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, Tirupati JEO Sri Pola Bhaskar, TTD Temple Special Grade Deputy EO Sri Munirathnam Reddy and others were also present.
