The sacred symbols of Shankha, Chakra, Namam in the Srivari Mettu route are set up by devotees trekking that path as a part of the fulfilment of their wish 

 

Due to lockdown, as the pilgrims movement footpath routes was temporarily stalled, the wild beasts freely roamed in these routes and destroyed the images.

 

TTD has removed and kept aside these damaged sacred symbols. After getting the opinion of Agama Advisors, TTD will find out a suitable place to set up these sacred images.

State Universities need to evolve as Centres of Excellence: Governor




















Hyderabad, June 9: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday called upon the Vice-Chancellors of the State universities to strive to transform the universities into centres of excellence in academics and research.

She said that universities should not just remain as ‘teaching universities;’ instead they should emerge as the centres of innovation, research, and development.

The Governor was interacting with the vice-chancellors of the State universities through virtual mode from the Raj Bhavan, here.

Highlighting the need to promote research in universities in a big way, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said that encouraging research and innovation in universities was vital for the country’s development.

“India stands at 49th position in Global Innovation Index. Universities have a greater role in catapulting our country into the league of top-20 countries of the Global Innovation Index,” she said.

The Governor also emphasised on carrying out the multi-disciplinary research related to the Covid-19 pandemic. “Quality research and publication in international journals must be encouraged through support and incentives,” she added.

Expressing concern over the status of Telangana in higher education ranking in the country, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan urged all the stakeholders to join hands and work to ensure top place for the Telangana State in quality higher education. “Telangana should be in the top rank in higher education,” she added.

The Governor also asked the vice-chancellors to build a strong network of the alumni and rope them in for the university’s development.

The other suggestions of the Governor to the VCs included promoting Academic Social Responsibility, ensuring vaccination of students, reaching out to the unreachable sections and help them to be part of the online classes, protecting the academic year through regular classes and examinations, and encouraging the Youth Red Cross and NSS activities to adopt the villages.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan announced that as the Chancellor she would institute awards for best teacher, who will be selected by the students, best research paper, and the award for the best village adopted by the students.

The Governor directed the universities to conduct the convocations on a regular basis.

Besides the VCs of all the 14 State universities, the chairman and vice-chairmen of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education were part of the around 3-hour-long exhaustive interaction.

Secretary to Governor K. Surendra Mohan coordinated the virtual interaction.

Governor supports students’ plea for vaccination




Hyderabad, June 9: Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday supported the students’ request to get vaccinated to attend the offline classes in the campuses.

Answering a host of queries during her live interaction, “Ask the Chancellor” in twitter, with the students of the universities and colleges, the Governor was supporting a student’s suggestion that students need to get vaccinated to attend the physical classes and examinations offline.

“Definitely students should be vaccinated. I am happy about your awareness. Starting the physical classes will be decided after assessing the pandemic conditions,” she replied to a query.

Most of the students were asking for the early conduct of examinations for their promotion to the next semesters and so as to not lag behind the schedule.

Many MBBS students of the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, were requesting for the early conduct of examinations for the 2nd year and 3rd year and added that they were lagging behind by 5 months for their next year classes.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, who is also the Chancellor of the State universities, assured them that she would take up the issue with the Vice-Chancellor of the KNRUHS.

Some of the medical students were requesting for the postponement of entrance examinations being conducted by the AIIMS, while some other were asking for the early conduct of the NEET exam for MDS aspirants. Some Physiotherapy students requested for doing away with the final examinations and give them degrees.

One of the participants in the virtual interaction urged the Governor to look into the problems plaguing the Osmania University for which the Governor assured to discuss with the concerned.

The engineering students of the JNTU were also asking about the examinations, while some expressed apprehensions over conducting of examinations offline due to the prevailing ‘risky’ conditions.

The Governor said that the live interaction with the students through the twitter was aimed at understanding the issues being faced by the students, give them morale booster, and take up their issues with the officials concerned.

The live interaction witnessed enthusiastic participation from students from all over the State.

Rana Daggubati comes to the rescue of 400 tribal families during the Covid-19 pandemic!






During the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, lack of resources has become a major issue Tollywood actor Rana Daggubati has come to the rescue of 400 tribal families to do his bit.


The actor went out of his way to help the tribal families of Nirmal district who have minimal access to even the basic necessities during the pandemic. The people in an entire cluster of villages were provided with groceries and medicines to help them tide through this time. Allampally and Baba Naik Randa Gram panchayats and hamlets consisting of Gurram Madhira, Pala Regadi, Addala Timmapur, Misala Bhumanna Gudam, Gagannapet, Kaniram Tanda, Chintagudam, Gonguram Guda and Kadem Mandal have received help from the actor for a while now.
On the work-front, Rana Daggubati was last seen in Aranya, which hit screens before the lockdown. He has shot for Venu Udugula’s Virata Parvam, apart from Sagar K Chandra’s Telugu remake of Ayyappanum Koshiyum, also starring Pawan Kalyan. While Rana has already resumed shooting for Virata Parvam and his film with Pawan, both have been put on hold due to the pandemic. Further details are awaited.

Hanuman Jayanthi Utsavams Concludes












The maiden five day Hanuman Jayanthi Utsavams mulled by TTD at the birthplace of Anjaneya at Anjanadri Hills in Tirumala near Akasa Ganga concluded on Tuesday.

 

Speaking on the occasion Additional EO of TTD Sri AV Dharma Reddy said, the first-ever five day Hanuman Jayanthi fete concluded with special Abhishekam and Archana to Anjana Devi and Bala Anjaneya Swamy idols consecrated in the newly constructed temple at Anjanadri.

 

He said with the blessings of Anjaneya the entire humanity will soon overcome from the ill effects of Covid.

 

Special Pujas were also rendered to the idols of Sri Sita Lakshmana Anjaneya Sametha Sri Rama idols and also Sri Sudarshana Chakrattalwar on the occasion.

 

Chief Priest Sri Venugopala Deekshitulu, DyEO Sri Harindranath, Peishkar Sri Srihari, Agama Advisor Sri Mohana Rangacharyulu, Veda Pundits were also present.

 

Later Sri Rajamohan team rendered melodious Sankeertans at Anjanadri while at Japali Sri PS Ranganath team rendered Hanuman Chalisa and Sri Chandrasekhar presented Harikatha.
