Addl. Eo Condemns False Media Reports Against TTD

Brushing aside reports by a section of media, TTD Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy said the tendering process of Counters was carried out in a most transparent manner.

Addressing media persons on Saturday at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala he said, in the last one and a half years, tenders have been called for five times from the agencies which have got skilled manpower and KVM Info from Bengaluru was selected which has quoted the lowest bid.

Putting forth the factual reports, he said that before March 2020, there were altogether 176 counters in Tirumala issuing laddus, darshan tokens, SSD counters, Scanning, SED counters, Alipiri toll gate counters at Tirupati.

Out of which 89 were operated by Trilok which offered services at Vaikuntam Queue Complex and SSD tokens in Tirupati. They were being paid by the central grants.

Trilok withdrew it's services even before March 2020. The publicity that Trilok did offer free services in the past is completely baseless.

At laddu counters only 25 were maintained by Banks and they used to pay very minimal salaries. Presently, only nine counters are being operated by two banks. Due to involvement of money transactions, even the Laddu Sevakulu also withdrew from services.

At this juncture, to give more transparent services to devotees, TTD has called for tenders which took place in a transparent manner.

KVM Info from Bengaluru which quoted the lowest bid in tender with Rs. 11,402 per shift per counter as against the previous value of Rs. 12,345 (both excluding GST).

TTD has reduced the counters from 176 to 164 as per it's a requirement and even introduced deployment of personnel on a rotation basis changing staff once in every two months to avoid giving scope to any sort of misappropriation.

However, the Additional EO said that TTD is ready to give counter operations to Banks if they come forward to do the sponsorship by paying Rs.40, 000 per counter per month. So far 12 banks have come forward to do the sponsorship as the counters are now maintained by skilled personnel deployed by the Agency. This will prevent misappropriation in the functioning of these counters'', he observed.

When TTD is taking decisions and implementing them for the good of pilgrims, it is sad that a section of the media is trying to malign the image of TTD among devotees with their baseless negative reports.

Deputy EOs Sri Ramesh Babu, Sri Harindranath, Sri Venkataiah, Sri Lokanatham, IT Chief Sri Sesha Reddy were also present.
