Vedic Knowledge Should Reach All - Addl Eo

The fruits of the vast knowledge available in our Vedas should reach everyone in the society to lead a righteous life, said TTD Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy.

Addressing the Vedic fraternity on the occasion of the 15th Anniversary of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University in Tirupati on Monday, the Additional EO called on the Vedic students to take up research in an extensive manner. The treasures in Vedas need to be disseminated to the entire world for a healthy way of life. This can be possible only through extensive research. Our Vedas taught about the emergence of life, the planet, solar system and many other information related to science and geography some millions of years ago, even before science explored through innovations in the last few centuries. Though we had 1331 Veda Sakhas, only nine of them are available now. We need to safeguard and propagate this great treasure for the sake of our future generations", he observed.

He said, the Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel of TTD is playing a prominent role in the propagation of Hindu Sanatana Dharma. Many programmes including Yoga Vasisthyam, Visuchika Maha Mantra Parayanam, Sundarakanda, Virata Parvam, Bhagavat Gita etc. Are all being telecasted live which received a huge response from devotees across the world.

He invited the Vedic scholars and students of the Varsity to give religious discourses which will be telecasted live on SVBC.

Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan takes second dose of vaccine along with the tribal people at KC Thanda, tribal habitation

Hon’ble Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan created history by taking her second dose of vaccine at a tribal habitation.

Inspiring and motivating tribal people to get vaccinated to protect themselves from the COVID pandemic, Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday got her second dose of vaccine along with the tribal women at KC Thanda, a tribal habitation in Maheshwaram mandal of Ranga Reddy district.

Concerned about the reports indicating low percentage of vaccination among tribal people, the Governor got administered her second dose of vaccine amidst the tribal people.

Inspired by the fact that none other than the State’s First Citizen coming to their tribal village and taking the vaccine along with them, the tribal women and others enthusiastically vied with each other to take the vaccine.

“I just want to set an example by taking the vaccine at their remote tribal habitation and motivate the tribal people to overcome the vaccine-hesitancy and come forward to get vaccinated,” she said.

Amazed and inspired by the personal presence of the Governor herself, the tribal people in the thanda took instantaneous interest in getting vaccinated in this remote habitation of tribals.

Seated along with tribal women, who came in their rich traditional attire,  the Governor took the second dose evoking instantaneous applause from the tribal people and the medical and health staff and the media personnel present in the PHC.

The Governor, who is a doctor herself, by taking the vaccine amidst and along with the tribal people, has created a huge impact and inspiration among the tribal people to shun their vaccine-hesitancy and get the vaccine administered.

The Governor called for the 100 per cent vaccination of all the tribal people with special attention towards those primitive tribal groups living in remote forest areas.

“The tribal people should be given vaccination on a priority basis. They should be protected from this deadly pandemic,” she added.

The Governor stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made ‘Himayalayan effort’ in ensuring that our country develops our own indigenous vaccine.

Thus our Prime Minister has assured the protection of 130 crore people of our country from the deadly pandemic.

“Indigenous vaccine development is the biggest achievement of our country. Even many developed countries do not have their own vaccine. We have helped many countries by supplying vaccine. We are witnessing the world’s largest vaccination in our country,” she added.

“I am sure the tribal people who were showing a bit of vaccine-hesitancy will now be courageous enough to get vaccinated. I wish this tribal habitation will be 100 per cent vaccinated in a couple of days,” she said.

Tribal women, who spoke, on the occasion expressed that now that the Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan herself coming to the tribal habitation and getting vaccinated is a huge honour for them. She said that the visit of the Governor has inspired them a lot and gave them a new hope and courage about the vaccination.

The tribal woman, Ms Sunitha, said that the tribal habitation is really witnessing a festive atmosphere with the arrival of the Governor.

The Governor appealed to the people that each one of us must act like “vaccine ambassadors” and motivate the people to get vaccinated at their turn. Vaccine is the permanent protection, while masks and other COVID-appropriate behavour offer temporary protection.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, who is fondly called as the daughter of Tamil Nadu and Sister of Telangana, addressed the tribal people as the tribal brothers and sisters and greeted them in Telugu and conveyed her greetings.

“I have a special fondness and liking towards tribal people. I came here to give you all courage to get vaccinated and get protected,” she added.

The Governor also appreciated the efforts of the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao in effectively containing the pandemic in the State and in taking the vaccination drive forward in our State.

“I hope my gesture of taking vaccination in a tribal habitation will help motivate all the tribal people across the state in getting vaccinated and get protection from the pandemic,” she added.

The Governor also appealed to the media to take the vaccination message in a proactive manner to the people and motivate them to take the vaccine and contain the pandemic.

Education Minister Ms Sabitha Reddy stated that it was a huge honour for the Ranga Reddy district and the tribal people across the state that the Governor took the vaccine at a tribal habitation and thus setting a personal example.

“The Governor herself coming to the remote tribal habitation and taking vaccine at the same PHC will have a huge impact across the State in motivating people to get vaccinated,” she added.

Earlier, the Governor has planted a sapling at the village garden and offered prayers at the Shiva Ganga Temple along with her husband, eminent Nephrologist Dr. P. Soundararajan.

The Governor surprised the villagers by distributing sweet boxes to each of the household in the KC Thanda.

The Governor personally handed over sweet boxes to some of the participants at the meeting.

The remote, sleepy tribal habitation, KC Thanda has truly witnessed the festive atmosphere with the Governor’s visit and getting vaccinated along with them. There was all-round exuberance and enthusiasm among the villagers.

Zilla Parishad chairperson Dr. Anitha Harinath, senior police officials, public representatives, officials and tribal people turned out in large numbers and took part in the Governor’s visit to the Thanda.

Secretary to Governor K. Surendra Mohan and other senior officials of the Raj Bhavan accompanied the Governor.

Devotees Hail TTD's New Accommodation Allotment System

The new system of allotment of accommodation in Tirumala has been receiving lot of appreciation from the visiting pilgrims as the waiting period has come down now.

To avoid delay in the allotment of accommodation to pilgrims, TTD decentralized the registration of accommodation during last month. New registration counters at six locations in Tirumala came into force from June 12 onwards. Earlier the registration was being done at CRO alone. The new locations includes GNC Tollgate, Balaji bus stand, Kausthubham Rest House, Rambagicha Rest House, MBC apart from CRO.

The devotees who booked accommodation in on-line through advance reservation have to scan their ARP slips at Alipiri tollgate, Alipiri footpath and Srivarimettu footpath routes. The devotees who prefer to reach Tirumala through road way will get SMS to their registered mobile number in 30 minutes along with the name of the Sub-Enquiry office they have to approach to get their accommodation while those trekking Alipiri footpath in three hours and Srivarimettu in one hour. (However, at present Alipiri footpath route is non-functional as it is under renovation). The pilgrim directly goes to that particular sub-enquiry office, by showing the SMS and gets allotted with the accommodation as per the tariff he had chosen while booking in on-line on availability. In current booking, the devotee gets registered at any one of these registration counters. He gets SMS to his registered mobile number along with the name of the sub-enquiry office where the accommodation is allotted to him.

So far 70148 pilgrims availed the accommodation facility in the last one month since the inception of new allotment system which includes 35418 under ARP and 34730 in current booking at Tirumala.

A software Engineer Sri M Satish from Bengaluru expressed immense satisfaction over the new allotment system. Earlier we used to run from pillar to post in search of rooms and wait for hours together at CRO General for accommodation. I came in my own vehicle and by the time I reached Tirumala on the 40th minute, I got allotted with my rest house at Koustubham without any waiting. It is really a welcoming initiative by TTD", he said.

Sri Sivaprakasan from Sivakasi of Tamilnadu said, I used to be a regular devotee of Elumalayaan. I had seen the permutations and combinations that took place in the allotment system by TTD management from time to time in the last two decades. But the present system of decentralization of accommodation mulled by TTD is the best move taken for the convenience of the pilgrims. Earlier we used to stand in serpentine queue lines at CRO. But I was allotted with a room at MBC within no time", he expressed.
