Anjanadri is Anjaneya Swamy's Birth Place Which is an Integral Part of Tirumala - Scholars

The Anjanadri Hills located in the Seshachala ranges is the Birthplace of Sri Anjaneya Swamy which is strongly proven through available evidence from Puranas, Sastras and Epigraphies asserted the scholars.

The two -day international Webinar on Anjanadri Tirumala-Anjaneya Birthplace organised jointly by Sri Venkateswara Institute of Higher Vedic Studies and National Sanskrit University concluded at Ramaranjan Mukherjee Hall in Varsity on Saturday.

Many Seers, versatile scholars, pundits, experts participated in this webinar and established their viewpoints affirming univocally that Anjanadri Tirumala is the birthplace of Anjaneya Swamy.

Acharya Chakravarti Ranganathan of National Sanskrit University emphasised that the Vaishnava literature of Alwar pasuras clearly indicated that the Anjanadri hillocks in Tirumala as the birthplace of Anjaneya Swami. He said even a stone inscription at Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple at Srirangam hailed Anjanadri as the birthplace of Hanuman.

Acharya Sri Rani Sadasiva Murthy of National Sanskrit University said Anjanadri was quoted extensively in Padma, Skanda and Brahmananda puranas. He also made a PowerPoint presentation on the scientific and geographic route taken by Sri Rama from Ayodhya to Sri Lanka.

Sri Archakam Ramakrishna Dikshitulu of Srivari temple spoke on the Significance of Anjanadri in Sapthagiri and said that the Tiruppavada Seva performed at Srivari temple on every Thursday by rendering Srinivasa Gadyam and Alavatta ritual spoke about the significance of Anjanadri.

Earlier IT exponent from California Sri Paladugu Sri Charan expressing his views on “Hanumanta in Sanskrit literature “ said Tirumala and Anjanadri are extensively quoted from Rig Veda to contemporary literature and displayed prevalent literary word banks as evidence.

While in the afternoon session, renowned spiritual scholars Sri Surendranath, Sri Vanam Jwala Narasimha Rao, Sri Unnikrishnan of Sanskrit College in Kerala, Sri Ramabhadracharji of Madhya Pradesh, Sri Madabhushi Sridhar, Sri Sankaranarayana ascertained the findings by Pundita Parishad of TTD on Anjanadri Tirumala as Anjaneya Swamy's birthplace and appreciated the untiring efforts of TTD mandarins behind this divine task.

In the valedictory session, addressing the webinar, TTD Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy said, he strongly believes that the whole idea of declaring Anjanadri Tirumala as the birthplace of Sri Anjaneya emerged only by the wish of Sri Venkateswara Swamy alone. "As soon as Ayodhya Ramajanmabhoomi was declared as birthplace of Sri Rama, our learned Executive Officer Dr KS Jawahar Reddy received many e-mails and WhatsApp messages from pilgrims across the country that TTD should take interests and put efforts to declare birthplace of Anjaneya Swamy, the ardent servant of Sri Rama. With this idea, the Pundita Parishad was set up with scholarly persons under the supremo of Sri Muralidhara Sharma, the VC of National Sanskrit University. After four months of vigorous research and day and night exercise by this team of pundits, we have brought out a synopsis with all epigraphically, puranic, geological evidences and declared Anjanadri as the birthplace of Anjaneya on the auspicious day of Sri Rama Navami on April 21 this year. We have also invited people who differed on this and also requested them to produce enough evidence proving their point. But so far a couple of persons who contradicted our statement could not prove their point. So we have declared Anjanadri as the birthplace of Anjaneya and soon will bring out a detailed book on the same", he asserted with confidence.

Acharya V Muralidhar Sharma, Vice-chancellor of National Sanskrit University, SV Higher Vedic Studies Special Officer Dr A Vibhishana Sharma and TTD Pundit Parishad and other Vedic exponents were present in the two-day webinar.

TTD To Publish Book on Anjanadri - Anjaneya Birth palce- TTD Addl Eo

TTD Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy said on Saturday that the two-day webinar on Anjanadri Tirumala-Birthplace of Anjaneya was a grand success and all participating Pontiffs and experts had helped TTD with additional inputs by affirming on Anjanadri Tirumala as the Anjaneya Swamy's birthplace.

Addressing a media conference at the National Sanskrit University after the conclusion of the Webinar, the Additional EO said the foundation for Sri Ram mandir at Ayodhya by Honourable PM Sri Narendra Modi on August 5, 2020, inspired TTD to pursue the cause of Anjanadri in Tirumala as the birthplace of Anjaneya.

He said that on resolving the decades-old Rama Janma Bhoomi controversy, the TTD EO received countless emails and messages to conduct research and declare Anjanadri Tirumala as the birthplace of Hanuman.

The TTD EO set up a Pundits Parishad to pursue puranic, geographic and Archeological evidence which strived for months before arriving at the conclusion that Anjanadri was the birthplace of Anjaneya, he added.

Elaborating further he said that TTD had already built a temple for Anjaneya temple in 2016 itself by the then EO where a Bala Anjaneya idol was found hundreds of years ago.

As per motivation and spirit of devotion to Sri Rama in which Hanuman excelled TTD also launched 18 hour long unprecedented Sundarakanda parayanam of all 2800 odd slokas from this episode in epic Valmiki Ramayana.

He said the Astadasha puranas and Venkatachala Mahatyam have also vividly referred to Anjanadri Tirumala as Anjaneya birthplace.

The Additional EO further added that a book on puranic evidence of Anjaneya birthplace has been already published by Sri Chinna Jeeyarswami peetham and Mantralayam peetham and now TTD will also bring out a book in a few days declaring that Anjanadri Tirumala as Anjaneya Janmabhoomi.

He appealed to experts to come out with more proofs and data if any, in this regard as TTD was not keen to engage in any verbal duel in future on the issue.

The Additional EO Sri Dharma Reddy said TTD will further develop the existing Anjaneya temple at the same spot in Anjanadri and promote several devotee friendly facilities.

Vice-chancellor of National Sanskrit University and Pandita Parishad Chief Acharya Muralidhar Sharma, member Acharya Rani Sadashiv Murthy, SVIHVS Project Special Officer Dr Akella Vibhishana Sharma were also present.
