Chennai Immersed in Spiritual Vibes

 All routes in Chennai led to the spacious ''Island Grounds'' on Sunday as a sea of humanity turned out to witness the celestial wedding of Sri Srinivasa with Sridevi and Bhudevi.

 

As a part of its noble mission of propagation of the Hindu Sanatana Dharma, TTD has been conducting Srinivasa Kalyanams at different places across the country since long time.

 

This religious event took place between 7pm and 9pm amidst chanting of vedic mantras and rendering of Annamacharya Sankeertans by artistes of Annamacharya Project during every episode of the traditional marriage ritual.

 

Sequence of the celestial marriage : The ritual started with Devataradhana and Sabha Vandanam. The ritual performing priests sits in Kurmasana facing East to the deities. The celestial marriage of the deities was performed as per the traditional Hindu Marriage system in the following procedure.

 

Punahavachanam: This is a sanctifying ritual conducted to cleanse all the articles, premises before the commencement of celestial marriage.

 

Vishwaksena Aradhana: After Punahavachanam follows Vishwaksena Aradhana. Lord Vishwaksena happens to be Commander-in-Chief of Lord Venkateswara who supervises the ritual was invoked.

 

The purified water in the kalasam is sprinkled on all the articles in Homakundam and Mantapam.

 

Ankurarpana: Next followed Ankurarpana which signifies a healthy beginning before any ritual. The Asta Dikpalakas are invoked and worshiped in this ritual.

 

Pratisara Bandhana: This is yet another main part of the celestial wedding where in the sacred Kankanams (holy threads) are tied to the right hand of the Lord and left hand of His Consorts while the ritual performing priests tie it to their right hands only. Swasti Sooktam was recited.

 

Agni Pratishta: Then followed Agni Pratista where in the pious agni was lit and Prayaschitta homam was performed.

 

Vastra Samarpana: After the Agni Pratistha new set of silk vastrams were offered to deities.

 

Maha Sankalpam: Then the important phase of the ritual, Maha Sankalpam was performed where in the descendent of Tallapaka family (the family which dedicated their lives in the service of Lord Venkateswara since last 600 years) performed Kanyadanam on behalf of Goddesses.

 

Kanyadanam: In any Hindu Marriage, Kanyadanam occupies a prominent place. Here the Gotra Pravaras of Lord and His Consorts were recited by the priests

 

Bharadwaja Gotram – Lord Venakteswara

 

Bhargava Gotram     – Goddess Sri Devi

 

Kasyapa Gotram       – Goddess Bhu Devi

 

Mangalya Dharana Mahotsavam: The Divine Wedding Ceremony came to a grand end with, Mangalya Dharana where Lord Venkateswara tied the Holy Mangala Sutrams to His beloved Consorts.

 

Varana Mayiram: This is a prominent and most entertaining phase usually performed during South Indian Hindu Weddings. The Lord and His Consorts played with floral balls and coconuts facing each other. (Here the priests and Tallapaka descendent performed this ritual on behalf of the deities). After this the garlands of deities were also exchanged.

 

Aarti: After the conclusion of the pleasant “Love Game”, the Consorts were seated on either sides of Lord, with Sridevi taking the Right side and Bhudevi occupying the left place of Maha Simhasanam.

 

Finally Karpoora Aarati, Nakshatra Aarati and Maha Aarti were rendered marking the grand conclusion of the Celestial Wedding Ceremony.

 

The entire Chenna Pattinam reverberated with vedic chants, Govinda Namas on Sunday evening on this auspicious occasion. The devotees were delighted to witness the grandeur of the sacred marriage under the bright moon light on the auspicious day of Chita Pournami on the finely decked Dasavatara Mandapam with Sri Ananda Nilaya Venkateswara Swamy as Centre of Attraction.

 

Renowned spiritual scholar Dr Velgudi Krishnan rendered the narration of each episode of the celestial wedding while a team of priests led by one of the chief priests of Tirumala temple, Sri Krishna Seshachala Deekshitulu performed the entire mega religious event which took part after a gap of two years due to Covid Pandemic. Sri Sai Swamy, Sri Hari Narayanacharyulu, descendants of Annamacharya were also present.

 

The Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu Sri Ravi, TTD Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy, EO Sri Dr KS Jawahar Reddy, Board members Sri Shankar, Sri Nanda Kumar, Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, Chennai LAC President Sri Sekhar Reddy were present.

 

Among others CE Sri Nageswara Rao, Additional CVSO Sri Siva Kumar Reddy, SE Sri Jagadeeshwar Reddy, DE Sri Ravishankar Reddy, EE Sri Manohar, SVBC CEO Sri Suresh Kumar and other officers were also present.























AP High Court CJ Offers Prayers at Srivari Temple






Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High court Justice Sri Prashant Kumar Mishra along with family members offered prayers at Srivari temple on Saturday morning.

 

He was received at the Mahadwaram by Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy and other Archakas.

 

After Srivari Darshan Sri Mishra and entourage were rendered Veda Ashirvachanam by TTD Vedic pundits. Thereafter the Additional EO presented Srivari Thirtha Prasadam, portrait, TTD agarbatti’s and 2022 diary and calendars.

 

Temple DyEO Sri Ramesh and others were present.

 

Spiritual Fervour Marks Vontimitta Rathotsavam






The Rathotsavam was organised on the seventh day of ongoing annual Brahmotsavams at the Kodandarama Swamy temple in Vontimitta at YSR Kadapa district witnessed huge gathering of devotees on Saturday.

 

The deities of Sri Kodandarama Swamy with Sita Devi and Sri Lakshmana Swamy were taken in a procession on the chariot through the streets of the historical village, accompanied by bhajans of devotees and priests reciting mantras.

 

The entire area resonated with the divine chantings of Jai Sri Ram raised by large number of devotees who participated in the finely decked chariot procession.

 

The Honourable Minister of Endowments Sri K Satyanarayana along with his  family also participated. Temple DyEO Sri Ramana Prasad and other officials were present.

Pawan Kalyan Launched Theatrical Trailer Of Jayamma Panchayath

 Popular anchor, television presenter and host Suma Kanakala’s comeback film Jayamma Panchayathi is all set for release. Vigorous promotions are happening for the movie, ahead of its release. As part of the promotions, the film’s theatrical trailer has been launched. Power Star Pawan Kalyan did the honors of launching the trailer.


Although the trailer doesn’t show the issue raised by Jayamma in front of the village council, it creates strong impact. Her husband is unwell and she takes a strong decision to resolve her personal problems. Stands firm on her decision, she is ready to fight against the village as well. A love story between a priest and his ladylove is shown in the trailer. We also get to see other characters in the trailer of this village drama.

Suma steals the thunder with her effortless performance. It’s purely because of her exceptional portrayal of the character, we instantly connect to the character.

Director Vijay Kumar Kalivarapu wins brownie points for his writing and taking. Anush Kumar’s cinematography is impressive, while MM Keeravani’s background score compliments the visuals.

The village drama film produced by Balaga Prakash under Vennela Creations will arrive in theatres worldwide on May 6th.

Srivaru Gifts Golden Crown, Ornaments to Sri Rama













On the occasion of celestial marriage of Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam at Vontimitta in YSR Kadapa district on Friday evening, Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy has presented Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy one crown to Mula Virat and three crowns to Utsava Murthies.

 

TTD Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy handed over the jewels weighing around 400 grams and pattu vastrams amidst a traditional procession to Sri Kodanda Rama. Later special pujas were performed to these precious ornaments which were brought from Tirumala at Vontimitta Kodanda Ramalayam.

 

JEO Sri Veerabrahmam, DyEO Sri Ramana Prasad were present.

Snapanam on Day 02 of Vasanthotsavam Held





The annual Vasanthotsavams entered second day on Friday at Tirumala.


Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to the utsava deities of Sri Malayappa with His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi in the finely decked Vasanta Mandapam.


Both the senior and junior Pontiffs of Tirumala, Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy and others were present.
