Padmavathi Srinivasa Parinayotsavam Off to A Ceremonious Start
The annual three-day festival, Sri Padmavathi Parinayotsavam commences on a grand religious note in Tirumala on Saturday evening in the finely decked Parinayotsavam Mandapam at the Narayanagiri Gardens.
This colourful divine wedding ceremony is being conducted every year on Navami, Dasami and Ekadasi in the holy month of Vaisakha. Sri Malayappa Swamy, the processional deity of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, arrived in style on Gaja vahana on the first day evening while His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi arrived on separate palanquins to the wedding venue.
This divine wedding ceremony took place as per the Hindu marriage traditions in an interesting manner. As a part of this, Edurukolu (Receiving bride and groom facing one another), Poo Bantata (Game of Flower Balls) Vastra Dharanam(offering of new clothes) were conducted by Archakas.
After the completion of the wedding ceremony, the deities returned to the main temple.
The melodious rendition of Annamacharya Sankeertans and Nadaswaram enhanced the divinity of the event.
ASTA LAKSHMI-DASAVATARA MANDAPAM
The highlight of the celestial event is the erection of the Astalakshmi-Dasavatara Mandapam by the Garden wing of TTD to match the occasion. The beauty and grandeur of the divine wedding ceremony are enhanced by the splendid decorations of the stage with varieties of fruits, flowers, orchids, banana and mango leaves, Sri Krishna, temple bell, elephant and peacock settings.

The important days during the annual brahmotsavams are Dhwajarohanam on May 4, Garuda Vahanam on May 8, Rathotsavam and Kalyanotsavam on May 11 and Chakrasnanam on May 12.
The Grihastas who wish to participate in the celestial kalyanam should pay Rs.750 per ticket on which two persons will be allowed.
AP Governor Offers Prayers in Tirumala Shrine
His Excellency, the Honourable Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Sri S Abdul Nazeer offered prayers in the Hill temple of Sri Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala on Saturday along with his family members and entourage.
During his maiden visit to the world-famous Hindu Shrine, the first citizen of the state, offered prayers in Sri Bhu Varaha Swamy temple initially following the temple tradition and later, on his arrival at Maha Dwaram, he was received by TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, while the archakas offered Istikaphal welcome in a traditional manner.
After the darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy inside the Sanctum Sanctorum, the Governor was rendered Vedasirvachanam in Ranganayakula Mandapam. Later the EO offered him Theertha Prasadams, laminated photo of Srivaru, Agarbattis and Panchagavya products of TTD.
The Principal Secretary to Governor Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, Tirupati SP Sri Parameshwar Reddy, CVSO Sri Narasimha Kishore, Tirumala temple DyEO Sri Lokanatham and other officials were also present.
