Karthika Deepotsavam inTirumalaon 15th Dec

The holy hills of Tirumala will observe the Karthika Deepotsavam in the temple on December 15.

As a part of this fete, the hill shrine shines under the illumination of mud lamps on Sunday evening.A galaxy of over 100 mud lamps will be lit in different places starting from Garbha Griha.

The lamps will be lit in front of Akhandam of Sanctum Sanctorum, Kulasekhara Padi, Ramulavari Meda, Garudalwar, Dwarapalakas, Vakulamata Shrine, Varadaraja Swamy Shrine, Yoga Narasimha, Viswaksenulavari Sannidhi, Sabha Ara, Chandana Ara, Kshetrapalakula Sanniddhi, Bangaru Vakili, Vendi Vakili, Dhwaja stambham, Balipeetham, Kshetrapalakula Sannidhi, Tirumalaraya Mandapam, Poolabaavi, Tirumala Rayamandapam, Ranganayakula Mandapam, Mahadwaram.

While outside the temple at Sri Varahaswamy Temple, Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple and Swamy Pushkarini. TTD has cancelled Sahasra Deepalankara Seva and monthly Pournami Garuda Seva in view of this festival.

Karthika Deepotsavam at TTD Local Temples on 15th Dec

The annual Kartika Deepotsavam will be celebrated on December 15 at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple and in Sri Kodanda Ramalayam in Tirupati.

In the evening, Karthika lamp and clothes are taken in a procession from Sri Pundarikavalli Ammavari Temple to Sri Govindaraja Swamy. On this occasion, the Kartika lamp will be lit in the temple and sub-shrines.

At Sri Kodandaramalayam the Kartika Deepotsavam will be celebrated in the evening.

As part of this the Kartika Deepam from Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple was brought in a procession to Sri Kodandaramalaya and the Kartika Deepams are lit.

Tiruppavai Pravachanams

The Tiruppavai Pravachanams will be recited in various parts of the country besides Annamcharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati from December 16 to January 13, 2025.

With the advent of Dhanurmasam, TTD observed the Pasura Parayanam every year under the aegis of its Alwar Divyaprabandha Project.

On total the Tiruppavai Pravachanams will be recited by eminent scholars in over 232 centres.

In Tirupati

The Andal Sri Godai Tiruppavai Pravachanams commences in Annamacharya Kalamandiram at Tirupati on Monday evening at 5.30pm. Versatile musician Dr Dwaram Lakshmi recites the Pasurams (each day one pasuram) while Sanskrit Scholar Dr Chakravarthy Ranganthan delivers the essence of the poem.

Both the Pontiffs of Tirumala, TTD mandarins and local devotees will grace the event.

Karthika Deepam Lit atop the Hillock in Sri Kipila Teerdham Temple

The auspicious festival of ” Karthika Deepotsavam ” was performed with utmost religious ecstasy in the Lord Siva temple in Kapilateertham amidst the chanting of Siva Nama-“Hara Hara Mahadeva Sambho Shankara” by scores of devotees thronging the temple on Friday evening.

Due to incessant rainfall, the velocity of the torrent has also increased. As such the devotees are not allowed to enter the temple tank. The women devotees, lit the ghee lamps and performed special puja in the temple premises.

The temple priests lit ghee lamps inside Garbhalayam, over the top of the temple, on the hill top.

JEO Smt Goutami, VGO Smt Sada Lakshmi, DyEO Sri Devendra Babu and others were present.
