Ankurapanam for Pavitrotsavam at Vontimitta Sri Kodandarama Swamy Vari Temple
The Ankurarpanam ritual was performed on Saturday evening at Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, Vontimitta, ahead of the Pavithrotsavams scheduled from August 24 to 26.
From 6 PM onwards, Medhini Puja, Mritsangrahanam, and Ankurarpanam were conducted in a traditional manner. Pavithrotsavams are held annually for three days to protect the sanctity of the temple and to atone for any lapses or mistakes that might occur inadvertently during rituals by devotees or temple staff.
As part of the celebrations:
On August 24, Pavithra Pratishtha and Shayanadhivasa will be performed in the Yagashala.
On August 25, Pavithra Samarpana and Vedic rituals will take place.
On August 26, the Pavithrotsavams will conclude with Vedic programs and Poornahuti.
The Deputy EO Smt. Prashanti, Superintendent Sri Hanumanthaiah and other officials, priests were also present.
