The Sandal Powder Festival of Sri Bhashyakara was held grandly on Thursday at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Tirupati. Special rituals were performed on the occasion.
As part of the concluding day of the Bhashyakara Utsavams, sandal powder abhishekam was offered to Sri Bhashyakara.
Later, the deity was taken in procession along the four Mada streets, followed by Asthanam.
The sandal decoration held special significance and offered a spiritual experience to devotees.
Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, temple officials and priests participated in the event.
Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam will be performed on April 28 at Sri Vedanarayana Swamy Temple, Nagalapuram. This ritual is traditionally conducted before the annual Brahmotsavams scheduled from May 1 to 9.
On the same day, Suprabhatam, Thomala Seva and Archana will be performed in the early morning. The Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam will take place from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
During the ritual, the temple premises, walls, ceiling and puja materials will be cleansed and sanctified. Holy water mixed with fragrant ingredients will be sprinkled throughout the temple.
Devotees will be allowed for darshan from 1:00 PM onwards.

The TTD Additional Executive Officer, Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, conducted a review meeting regarding Srivari Seva activities on Friday at the Sudharma Conference Hall, located within the Padmavathi Guest House in Tirumala.
During this meeting, various topics related to Srivari Seva, including the allocation of Seva duties to Srivari Seva volunteers at different points, the provision of preliminary training by user departments on service delivery protocols for devotees, the appropriate conduct expected from staff of relevant departments when interacting with volunteers, and the immediate redressal of any complaints received from the volunteers.
Excepts:
• To ensure that Srivari Seva volunteers provide the highest quality of service to devotees, instructions were issued to user departments to take measures to gather feedback and experiences from volunteers after the completion of their service, and to resolve any issues they may have on the spot.
• A transparent system for rating the performance of volunteers based on their efficiency and effectiveness is to be implemented.
• It was decided to establish a Centralized Grievance Cell for the resolution of volunteer complaints, introducing a system for immediate redressal accessible through a dedicated helpline number.
• User departments were directed to provide clear guidelines to volunteers regarding their responsibilities and to utilize the services of the Srivari Seva volunteers effectively.
• Measures to invite renowned musicians and spiritual speakers to Satsang and orientation programs, with the aim of providing guidance that fosters a spirit of service and discipline amongst Sevaks.
• A decision to install signboards in pilgrim influx areas at Tirumala to disseminate information regarding codes of conduct, as well as ethical and spiritual values for the benefit of devotees as well Srivari Sevaks
• Measures to establish a 'Healing Center' to promote mental peace and well-being among devotees, volunteers, and employees.
• Instructions issued to concerned officials to take appropriate steps regarding the utilization of retired Senior Officers and Bureaucrats as Supervisors under Srivari Seva.
The meeting was attended by CPRO Dr. T. Ravi; Deputy EOs Sri Lokanatham, Sri Bhaskar, and Sri Somannarayana; Estate Officer Sri Venkateswarlu; Sri Ramakantha Rao, PRO (FAC) Ms. Neelima; IT Deputy GM Sri Venkatesh Naidu; Aswini Hospital Civil Surgeon Dr. Subbareddy; VGO Sri Surendra; and other officials.

Devotees witnessed the sacred ritual with devotion.
Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to the Utsava deities of Sri Sita, Lakshmana and Kodandarama Swamy from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM with milk, curd, honey, turmeric, sandalwood and coconut water.
Later, Pushpayagam was held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Unjal Mandapam with Vedic chanting and traditional music. About three tonnes of flowers of various types were used for the ritual.
Devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka offered flowers for the seva. The temple premises was filled with a spiritual atmosphere.
The ritual was performed on the occasion of Punarvasu Nakshatram, the birth star of Lord Sri Rama. Priests stated that Pushpayagam is performed as a ritual atonement for any lapses and is believed to remove all doshas.
In the evening, the deity was taken in procession in the four Mada streets blessing devotees.
TTD officials and a large number of devotees participated.
