Speaking at the literary meet, scholar Amudala Murali highlighted that Vengamamba’s devotional works reflected unwavering faith in Lord Venkateswara while promoting women empowerment. Eminent speakers elaborated on her contributions like Dwipada Bhagavatam and Sri Venkatachala Mahatyam.
A cultural music programme will be held in the evening.
The auspicious ceremonies of Narasimha Jayanthi and ardent devotee Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Jayanthi will be observed in Tirumala on April 30.
In the advent of Swathi Nakshatram in Vaisakha month, Sri Nrisimha Jayanthi is observed in Tirumala temple. Special Abhishekam to the Mula murthi of Sri Yoga Narasimha Swamy will be performed on that day.
Meanwhile pushpanjali will be offered to Tarigonda Vengamamba memorial located in Tirumala.
In the evening, the utsava murthies of Sri Malayappa Swamy along with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi will reach Narayanagiri Gardens and Unjal Seva is performed followed by devotional cultural programmes.
Upon his arrival at the temple, he was accorded a traditional Istikapal welcome by the temple priests. He offered prayers at the Dwajasthambam and had darshan of Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru.
Later, at the Asthana Mandapam, TTD Executive Officer Sri M. Ravichandra presented Srivari prasadam and honoured him with Sesha Vastram.
Chandragiri MLA Sri Pulivarthi Nani, TTD Board Member Sri G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy, JEO Sri V. Veerabrahmam, District Collector Sri Venkateswarlu, District SP Sri L. Subbarayudu, CVSO Sri Muralikrishna, Tiruchanoor Temple Deputy EO Sri Harindranath, and other officials were present.
The building, which was used for the school till 2006, was handed over to the Police Department in 2010. Though the District SP office has shifted to a new building, the police canteen and welfare section are still functioning here.
Following complaints from devotees, TTD EO Sri M. Ravichandra directed officials to examine the building for taking it back and restarting the school.
The JEO instructed officials to take steps to reclaim the building, maintain cleanliness, and submit a report on repairs, painting, greenery, and renovation works.
Estate Officer Smt. Suvarnamma, DEO Sri Venkata Sunil, engineering officials, and teachers were present.
During the visit, the EO reviewed the functioning of the Annaprasadam services and interacted with the devotees. He enquired about the quality of food, timely distribution, and overall services. Devotees from different places expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.
He also sought details from officials regarding the timings of breakfast, lunch, drinking water supply, and night distribution. Later, he inspected the store room, cold storage, kitchen, and cleanliness of the premises, and reviewed the stock of vegetables and leafy items.
The EO directed officials to prepare a report for the disposal of unused furniture, non-functional machinery, and scrap materials at the earliest. He also enquired whether the staff are receiving their salaries on time and if there are any deductions.
