Balalayam Begins in Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple

Tirupati, 11 December 2017: The traditional ritual of Balalayam- rite to cleanse and rejuvenate the sanctum of all temples- in the complex of Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple commenced today with Suprabatham, Thirumanjanam, Tomala Seva, and Archana. After the Raksha bandhanam for rutwiks (archakas), other events of the program shifted to Yagashala. Tonight all the pooja vessels, utsava idols of deity and family would be shifted to Yagashala for taking up rejuvenation works in the temple complex.

All arjita sevas and archanas besides darshan is suspended in the Sri GT from December 12 to 14. But the darshan in all other sub temples of the Sri GT- Sri Devi, Bhudevi, Kalyana Venkateswaraswamy, Rukmini-Sathyabhama with Parthasarathy, Andal Ammavaru, Sri Pundarikavalli - will continue as routine. In view of the temple rejuvenation works for three months there will not be any darshan in the sanctum of GT.

Among others chief priest of Sri GT Sri Srinivasa Dikshitulu, DyEO Smt P Varalakshmi, Superintendent Sri Jnana Prakash, Temple inspector Sri Krishnamurthi and others participated in the program.
