Tirumala, 24 March 2018: Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju has reviewed on the arrangements to be made for the upcoming torrent festival-Tumburu Teertha Mukkoti which occurs on March 31 this year.

The review meeting with various departmental heads was held at Annmaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Saturday. The JEO instructed the departments especially Engineering, Forest, Vigilance, Annaprasadam and Health departments on the measures and arrangements to be made for the big religious event.
SECURITY OF BOTH ECOLOGY AND DEVOTEES ARE IMPORTANT
The JEO said, though the fete is not directly related to Tirumala temple,  Tumburu Teertham is considered to be one of the most important torrents among the Saptha Teerthas present in the lush green forests of Seshachalam ranges in Tirumala, TTD has been making elaborate arrangements for the festival keeping in view the increasing pilgrim rush. “This is located at about 9km from Tirumala temple. As this coincides on Phalguna Pournima day, the inflow of pilgrims has increased from the past few years. So we are paying extra attention to make the event a smooth one, especially after the 2014 forest fire mishap. Though the festival is on March 31, the devotees throng to Tumburu Teertham a day before itself. So all the departments should be attentive”, the JEO informed.
NO PERMISSION FOR COOKING BY DEVOTEES:

The JEO has clearly instructed the vigilance, forest, health and fire departments not to permit any devotee to cook their own food in the Teertham. “The food arrangements will be made by Annaprasadam wing of TTD alone and outsiders will not be permitted.  The devotees are strictly banned from carrying cooking articles. The forest and police officers should thoroughly check Mamandur, Karakambadi, Balapalli roads as devotees throng Tumburu teertham via these routes”, he added.
TWO LAKHS WATER AND 80K BUTTER MILK PACKETS:

He has instructed the Health and Annaprasadam wings to keep ready Two Lakh water sachets, 15 one litre bottles and 50 thousand butter milk packets ready to distribute among the pilgrims as more than 30-35 thousand pilgrims are expected to take part in this fete. “During last year the figures crossed 30 thousands and this year we should be prepared with five thousands more. Utilize the services of Srivari Sevakulu for packing and distribution of food and water to devotees”, he added.
OFFICERS TEAM TO INSPECT THE ARRANGEMENTS ON MARCH 26
The JEO instructed a team of officers comprising all departments to inspect the arrangements at Teertham on March 26 to make necessary arrangements.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
He instructed the radio and broad casting wing to make continuous announcements on the precautionary measures including ban of cooking by outsiders, to reach Tumburu Teertham only via Papavinasanam route and not from Mamandur etc. for the sake of the safety of the devotees.
ELABORATE SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS:
The JEO has also instructed the vigilance wing officials to deploy additional men at different points all through the route from Papavinasanam to Tumburu Teertham and also instructed to negotiate with Tirumala police on security arrangements.
MEDICAL CAMPS AT PAPAVINASANAM
The CMO Dr Nageswara Rao was instructed to set up medical camps in the Papavinasanam route as the devotees trek Tumburu Teertham via this route. He has also instructed to keep ready three ambulance vans in the case of any emergency
ENGINEERING ARRANGEMENTS:
