Temple City Bears Abandonded Look Following Chandra Grahanam













Tirupati, 16 Jul. 19: The pilgrim city of Tirupati which is a conglomeration of various sub shrines were closed following Chandra Grahanam on Tuesday evening. 

With the doors of all the temples closing close to ten hours,  the temple city bore an empty look. The temple of all local temples under the aegis of TTD including Tiruchanoor, Govindaraja Swamy, Sri Kodandarama Swamy, Narayanavanam,  Nagulapuram,  Karvetinagaram and even Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple were closed as per temple tradition. 

They all will be reopened on July 17 after suddhi and punyahavachanam at 5am. 

Tirumala Temple Door Closes




Tirumala, 16 Jul. 19: Following total lunar eclipse on July 17 which occurs between 1.21am and 4.39am,  the main doors of the Hill temple of Lord Venkateswara were closed on Tuesday evening at 7pm following temple tradition.

The pilgrim centre that never sleeps and always abuzz with pilgrim activity was shut down for nearly ten hours donning an empty look. 

Speaking on the occasion,  TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal said that the temple doors will be reopened after Suddhi and Punhavachanam on July 17 at 5am.  The darshan for pilgrims will recommence from 11am onwards on Wednesday. 

CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti, VGO Sri Manohar, Temple DyEO Sri Haridranath and others were present.

TTD Chairman Offers Vastrams to Kanchi Varadaraja Swamy And Kamakshi Temples










Tirumala, 16 Jul. 19: TTD Trust Board Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy presented silk vastrams to Sri Varadaraja Perumal at Kanchipuram in Tamilnadu as a part of the going 40-year once rare spectacle-Atti Varadar on Tuesday. 

On his arrival to the temple, he was given warm reception by Collector Sri Ponnaiah, SP Sri Kannan and temple EO Sri Tyagarajar. 

Afterward, the Chairman also had darshan of Sri Kamakshi at Kanchipuram. He also presented silk vastrams to Kamakshi Amman. He was welcomed by the temple manager Sri Srikaryan. 

Tirumala temple OSD Sri P Seshadri, Peishkar Sri Lokanatham, PS to Chairman Sri Chowdary were also present.
