Extensive Arrangements in Full Wing for Ratha Saptami - Addl Eo
Tirumala, 21 January 2020: Elaborate arrangements are underway to observe Surya Jayanthi or One day Upa Brahmotsavams on the auspicious day of Rathasapthami on February 1, said TTD additional Executive Officer Sri AV Dharma Reddy.
After a review meeting at Annamaiah Bhavan on Tuesday with senior officers in Tirumala over the on-going arrangements for the yet another big occasion which is just ten days away, the Additional EO directed all HoDs to complete the works as per time schedule.
Later speaking to media he said there were inscriptions to say that Ratha Saptami was grandly celebrated every year since 1564.
He said on that day the deity of Sri Malayappa Swamy is paraded on seven Vahanams beginning with Surya Prabha vahanam in the morning and culminating with Chandraprabha Vahanam at the night.
The galleries of Mada streets will be packed with devotees from morning 0400 am till 9.00: pm at night. TTD had plans to lay German sheds in Mada streets to facilitate the devotees against cold and hot weather.
Elaborate discussions are also held with Annaprasadam, Health and security departments. The event will be telecast live on SVBC channel, besides all-out efforts to keep Tirumala clean and also a bouquet of cultural programs in front of vahanams.
He also directed officials to make foolproof security arrangements in coordination with local police besides deployment of 3500 Srivari Sevakulu, 300 scouts and guides.
TTD has also cancelled all arjita sevas like Kalyanotsavam, unjal Seva, Brahmotsavams, Vasantotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on that holy festival day.
Similarly, the TTD has also cancelled all privileged darshans tokens like senior citizens, challenged and parents with infants, he maintained.
