TTD JEO Smt Sada Bhargavi on Friday directed officials to be vigilant and prepared with action plans to tackle all calamities during the ensuing monsoon rainy season.

She was participating as chief guest at a valedictory session of a three-day program jointly organised by the AP disaster management wing and UNICEF at SVETA on natural calamities and TTD preparedness to tackle them.

Speaking on the occasion TTD JEO directed officials to identify calamity-prone areas in TTD which could be studied by the Disaster management department and UNICEF to suggest solutions and asked TTD officials to extend all cooperation to the experts.

The three-day-long festivities of celestial Jyestabisekam  commenced at the  kalyana Mandapam in the Sampangi Prasadam of Srivari temple on Friday 

As part of the fete ritwicks performed shanti Homa,shata Kalash pratista avahana, Nava Kalash pratista avahana,kankakana pratista at yagashala ahead of kankana dharana.

Thereafter Snapana thirumanjanam was performed for utsava idols of Sri Malayappaswami and his consorts amidst chanting of stree Sutkam, Purusha sutkam, bhu sutkam, Neela sutkam and Narayan sutkam.

Later in the evening a diamond kavacham is adorned to utsava idols of swami and ammavaru and paraded in the Mada streets after sahasra deepalankara Seva.

Similarly, the utsava idols will be adorned with pearl kavacham on Saturday and gold kavacham on Sunday and bless the devotees.

 TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy directed officials concerned to come out with long term action plans to avoid Ghat road accidents.

A review meeting by EO with the District Collector Sri Venkatramana Reddy and SP Sri Parameshwar Reddy besides senior officers from TTD was held in the Chambers of EO in TTD Administrative Building on Friday in Tirupati.

The following decisions have been taken in the meeting

1. Checkpoints to be set up in the First turning of Down Ghat Road, Seventh Mile, Alipiri Down Gate, Upghat Link Road, Natural Garuda Rock, Divyaramam 

2. Concrete Retaining Walls to be constructed in the Down Ghat similar to Upghat road.

3. To make a list of the vehicles to be restricted to ply along ghat roads 

4. Display of Accident Prevention Instruction boards at different points all along the Ghat roads 

5. Pamphlets to be printed on the speed limit, others do's and don'ts while driving along ghats 

6. Speed Guns to be installed to identify speeding vehicles along ghat roads

7. Ambulances and rescue teams to be kept ready

8. Audio on Do's and Don'ts during driving along ghat roads to be played in RTC buses plying along ghat roads for the awareness of the  public

9. Increase the number of free buses in Tirumala

10. Steps to be initiated to avoid overtaking by RTC buses in Ghat roads

11. Besides Ruia, the doctors and their team in BIRRD and SVIMS should also be attentive and ready to attend to energency accident cases if any that takes place on Ghats.
