Ankurarpanam Held









The Ankurarpanam-ritual of prelude for Maha Samprokshanam festivities in Srivari temple at Majin village in Jammu was observed on Saturday.


As a part of the religious event, Acharya Varanam, Punyahavachanam, Mritsangrahanam, Ankurarpanam was observed between 6pm and 8pm.


SIGNIFICANCE OF ANKURARPANAM:


Ankuararpanam means "sowing the seed". The essence of this ritual is to make a Sankalpa(Wish) to celebrate a utsavam (Festival) and get the grace of the Lord.


Sastras prescribe doing Ankurarpanam or Beejavapanam, sowing of seeds in sacred mud pots will be done 9, 7 5, 3 days or at least one day before the festival.


This ritual is performed in the evenings as the dictum has its basis in astrological principles.


As Chandra - the Moon God is said to be the "Sasyakaraka" - the controller of plants, the seed sowing ceremony is performed in nights only before every festival.


Agamas, the holy texts also mention that the sprouts that emanate from the seeds imply the successful celebration of the fete.


VAIDIKA RITUALS


From June 4 to 7, other Vaidika rituals will be performed while on June 8, Maha Samprokshanam will be observed between 7:30am and 8:15am in the auspicious Mithuna Lagnam.From 9:30am onwards, darshan for devotees commences.

Pattbhirama on Sarva Bhoopala Vahanam




Sri Kalyana Venkateswara as Pattabhi Rama blessed His devotees on Sarva Bhupala Vahanam.


The fourth day evening as part of the ongoing annual brahmotsavam in Narayanavanam witnessed Sarva Bhupala Vahanam on Saturday evening.

Kalyanam Performed








The celestial Srivari Kalyanam was observed in a grand manner at Appalayagunta on Saturday evening.


The divine wedding was observed with grandeur as per the Hindu marriage tradition between 4pm and 6pm.


Devotees participated with devotional fervour to beget the blessings of Sri Bhu sameta Sri Prasanna Venkateswara.


DyEO Sri Govindarajan, Superintendent Smt Srivani and temple inspector Sri Siva Kumar were also present.

Sarva Bhoopala Vahanam Observed









Sri Prasanna Venkateswara along with Sridevi and Bhudevi blessed His devotees on Sarva Bhupala Vahanam.

Sri Govindaraja Swamy Vari Temple Fete Concludes




The annual Navahnika Brahmotsavams concluded with Dhwajavarohanam on Saturday night in Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple in a grand religious manner.


Both the seers of Tirumala, Kankana Bhattar Sri Srinivasa Deekshitulu, DyEO Smt Shanti and others were present.


Sonu Sood Urges Government to Form Fixed Income Policies for Odisha Train Accident Victims




Saturday morning began on a shocking note for the entire nation with the news of the Odisha train accident. Over 200 people lost their lives and more than 900 got injured in the mayhem. The Indian film industry also came out to express their grief and extend support to the victims and their families, but actor Sonu Sood aspires more to be done for the victims' families. 


The actor who is known to work for the needy and underprivileged, shared a video on his social media where he spoke about the accident. While he expressed his grief and extended condolences to the victims and their families, he also pointed out that the people would move on eventually but those families will suffer for a lifetime. 

Sonu said that the victims might be given compensation, but they would get over eventually. So, to rectify that and to ensure their welfare for a longer time, the actor urged the state and central government to join hands and make some fixed income policies for victims and their families of such tragic accidents. 

He said that getting regular monetary support from the government would ensure they don't suffer in the longer run and be able to lead a better life as the loss that has occured to them will always be irreparable. He also asked the governments to not indulge in blame games and just focus on the betterment of the people who have suffered in this horrible incident. Sonu incited a sense of unity amongst all Indians to help the people recover from the tragic loss that has occured.

Maa Padmavati Blesses on Teppa











The annual Teppotsavams in Tiruchanoor witnessed Goddess Sri Padmavathi Devi taking a celestial ride on the finely decked float in three rounds on Saturday evening.


The processional deity of Sri Padmavathi Devi blessed Her devotees on the float between 6:30pm and 7:30pm  gliding in the spacious Padma Sarovaram.
