Pavitrotsavams Begin at Tondamanpuram Sri Venkateswara Swamy Vari Temple

The three-day Pavithrotsavams of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, along with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi, at Tondamanpuram began in a grand and devotional manner on Wednesday.

The rituals began in the morning with Suprabhatam, followed by Thomala Seva and Sahasranamarchana. The processional deities of Sri Venkateswara Swamy along with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi were then taken to the Yagashala, where special Vedic rituals were performed. Chatushtarchana and Pavitra Pratishtha were subsequently conducted by the priests as per Agama traditions.

Special Vedic rituals will be performed in the Yagashala from 5.30 pm to 7.45 pm.

Pavithrotsavams to Preserve Temple Sanctity

Pavithrotsavams are conducted every year for three days to atone for any inadvertent lapses by pilgrims and staff and to preserve the sanctity of the temple. As part of the festival, sacred Pavitra Malas are offered to the deity and special rituals are performed.

Temple Deputy EO Smt. Nagarathna, Temple Inspector Sri Sudheer, temple priests and a large number of devotees participated in the rituals.
