SURYA PUJOTSAVAM IN MATSYAVATARA TEMPLE FROM MARCH 23 TO 27

Tirupati, 21 Mar. 16: The TTD plans to conduct the Teppotsavam and Surya Pujotsavam at one of its sub-shrine of Sri Vedanarayana swamy Temple of  Nagulapuram from March 23 to 27 in a grand style.

Temple legends say that Surya Pujotsavam comprises of worship by Lord Surya to  Sri Mahavishnu in avatar of Matsya to refresh him after the long battle against  demons and evil forces. It is said that sun rays would touch the feet of the deity   located 630 feet from the Rajagopuram of the temple on the first day, the belly button on second day and forehead of the deity on the third day.

As part of the annual Surya Pujotsavam Mahotsavam, Teppotsavam and Snapana  Thirumanjanam will be conducted daily for the utsava idols of the deity from 9am to 10.30 AM daily March 23 – 27. Surya puja darshanam will be performed for the benefit of the devotes from 5.30 PM to 6.30 PM and Thiruveedhi procession will be conducted every day from 7.30pm to 9PM.

TEPPOTSAVAM FROM MARCH 23:

Teppotsavam will also be performed at the Sri Vedanarayanaswami temple for five days from March 23. On the first day the utsava idol of Sri Vedanarayanaswami along with Bhudevi and Sridevi will adorn the Teppotsavam, with Goda Devi on Second day, with  Sri Kodanramaswamy Sita and Lakshman on third day and on 4th and 5th day Sri Vedanarayanaswami with Bhudevi and Sridevi will ride on the Teppotsavam.

According to a TTD spokesman there will be Thiruchhi Procession of Sri Vedanarayanaswami and his consort for the first three days in the thiru veedhi and later Lord will enthral the devotees on Vahana of Pearls and and Shesha vahanam on the next two days.

The TTD Annamachartya project has made elaborate arrangements for cultural, devotional music programs on all the five days at the temple premises to enthuse the devotees participation.
