In the second lap of his business trip to the USA, Minister for
Industries and Commerce, IT, MAUD and NRI Affairs Sri KT Rama Rao met several
industry leaders in Chicago, Illinois State. At the University Club of Chicago,
Sri Rama Rao had a luncheon meeting with about 100 business leaders of Midwest
States of USA. Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, Consulate General of India, Chicago hosted the
meeting.
At Chicago Indian Consulate General, the Minister was present at
the signing of MoU with Illinois State on Smart City Cooperation. Sri KT Rama
Rao later, separately, met senior management team from Abbott Healthcare and a
delegation lead by Mr John Flannery, President and CEO of GE Healthcare. The
Minister for Industry and Commerce explained the opportunities that Telangana
offers and invited them to invest in Healthcare, Pharma and Medical
Devices areas. Minister Sri Rama Rao also elaborated on Telangana Government’s
plans to set up Pharma City and Medical Devices Park near Hyderabad.
Later Minister met Mr Nalin Jain, President & CEO, South Asia,
GE Aviation and explained about the aviation ecosystem and the opportunities
present in the aerospace industry in Hyderabad. Sri Rama Rao stated that
Hyderabad now boasts of the presence of global aviation majors like Boeing,
Lockheed Martin, Sikorsky, Pilatus, RUAG Aviation etc.
A high-level delegation representing Missouri Partnership, a PPP
initiative of the State of Missouri, met Minister Sri KT Rama Rao in Chicago. The
delegation expressed desire to work in partnership with Telangana State in the
innovation space. They invited Telangana State to partner with T-Rex, the Innovation
initiative of Missouri State. The representatives invited Telangana Government
to open T-Hub’s outpost – T-Bridge – in Missouri State. California Government’s
I-Hub already entered into a partnership T-Hub, via T-Bridge. Missouri is the
second US’ State to come forward to partner with T-Hub & Telangana.
The inclination of US’ States to partner with T-Hub is a testimony
to the vision of Minister Sri KT Rama Rao and to the outstanding reputation the
startup incubator has earned in a very short period of time.
Minister Sri Rama Rao later left for Minneapolis, Minnesota to
attend the MedTech Conference - Advamed 2016.
