Chief Minister Sri. K. Chandrashekhar Rao review on Demonetization at Pragathi Bhavan

The Telangana State Cabinet will meet in State Secretariat in Hyderabad on Monday (Nov 28, 2016) afternoon at 2.30 PM to discuss the post-demonetization scenario affecting the State and its population. It will also discuss measures to be taken to overcome problems faced by people due to demonetization of the high denomination currency notes.
            On Sunday, Honourable Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao held a review meeting on the eve of the cabinet meeting. The Chief Minister said that the Government couldn’t be a mere spectator to the situation arising out of the demonetization. “There cannot be any stalemate in transactions since it is concerned to Lakhs of people in the state,” he said.
            Chief Minister, while brining to the notice of the participating officers and ministers about the problems faced by people, has emphasised the need to take effective measures by the State Government to overcome the problems. CM also elicited the opinions and suggestions of the participants on the issue.
            Chief Minister also asked the Chief Secretary to gear up the Collectors and instruct them to discuss with the bankers to educate people to move towards cashless transactions in future.
            Chief Minister also reiterated the need to help people. The finance department should work out on what they would do and what the government do as a whole? In this regard, a five-member Committee is constituted to work out modalities for preparing a policy towards cashless e-payment system. The Five-member Committee members include Senior IAS Officers Sri Suresh Chanda, Sri Navin Mittal, Sri Jayesh Ranjan and Collectors Sri Raghunandan and Sri Surendra Mohan. Smt Santi Kumari Principal Secretary to CM will be in the committee representing CMO. The Committee will also prepare a job chart to the Collectors to face any grave situation like the present demonetization and place before the cabinet.
            Chief Minister also asked the Finance Secretary Sri Ramakrishna Rao to prepare a detailed note on the impact, implications and other aspects of demonetization of high denomination notes on the State to be tabled before the State cabinet tomorrow. This would help the cabinet to take a view on issue.

            The review meeting was held at Pragathi Bhavan. Deputy CM Sri Mahmood Ali, Ministers Sri T Harish Rao, Sri Jagadeeshwar Reddy, Mission Bhagiratha Vice Chairman Sri Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Chief Secretary Sri Rajeev Sharma, Principal Secretary to CM Sri S Narsing Rao, Principal Secretary to CM Smt Shanti Kumari, Principal Secretary (Finance) Sri Ramakrishna Rao, Finance Secretary Sri Navin Mittal and others participated in the review meeting.
