Tirupati, 9 January 2017: The holy bath to the sacred Chakrattalwar-the "Chakrasnana Mahotsavam" was observed with religious fervour in all the TTD-run shrines along with Tirumala temple on Monday on Vaikuntha Dwadasi.
Chakra Snanam was performed in Srinivasa Mangapuram, Tiruchanoor, Narayanavanam and Appalayagunta temple tanks on this auspicious occasion.
Vaikuntha Dwadasi which is also called “Mukkoti Dwadasi” is observed on the twelfth day during the auspicious Dhanurmasa.
This day also happens to be equally important like the Mukkoti Ekadasi or Vaikuntha Ekadasi. This celestial fete of holy bath to Sudarshana Chakrattalwar(conch) is being observed on two occasion in these shrines during annual Brahmotsavams and Mukkoti Dwadasi days.
