LORD TAKES RIDE ON "ADHIKARANANDI" IN THE MORNING

Tirupati, 21 February 2017: The processional deity of Lord Shiva took celestial ride on Adhikara Nandi vahanamon Tuesday morning along the streets surrounding the temple amidst the chanting of "Hara Hara Mahadeva Sambho Sankara" slogans reverberating all through the procession.

There are many interesting stories elucidating the importance of Adhikara Nandi. According to Lingapurana, Nandi has a dark complexion,  has four hands carrying weapons including Shula, Gadha, Tanka and Vajra and has three eyes making sounds that of a dark cloud.

Temple DyEO Sri Subramanyam, Suptd Sri Obul Reddy, Temple Inspectors Sri K Narayana, Sri Muralikrishna, AVSO Sri Raju, Exe Engineer Sri Jagadeeswara Reddy and others took part in the event..
