Srimathi Silk Mark Beauty Pageant 2017 Held at Ravindrabharathi


 4TH Grand Edition of Hyderabad Srimathi Silk Mark 2016-17 a Beauty Pageant organized by Silk Mark Organization of India, Promoted by Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India.

The event was organized coinciding with ‘International Women’s Day’ and specifically crafted & designed for married women the brand ambassadors of ‘Telugu Culture and Traditional Values’ depicting the Glimpses of Indian Silks spreading the awareness on Silk. Educating Women to Identify Pure Silks & encourage to wear traditional attire. Silk Mark committed over all efforts to create awareness about the ‘Importance of Pure Silk (PATTU)’ among the Silk Consumers.

The message was disseminated to the consumers to ensure the presence of Silk Mark Label reliable assurance for purchasing authenticated pure silk (Pattu) products.

For the first time introduction of Vanya Silk products from the states of North-East India, ‘Enchanting Eri’, ‘Tantalising Tasar’, ‘Magnificent Muga’ to the city of Hyderabad, apart from Marvellous Mulberry was the Highlight of the Grand event organized by Silk Mark Organisation of India, Hyderabad Chapter.

 After receiving an encouraging response from all corners of Talangana and particularly Hyderabad city. The committee has shortlisted 56 contestants out of 120 aspirants from various professionals viz., Doctors, IT employees, Fashion Designers apart from the home makers, who have shown curiosity to be part of this Hyderabad Srimathi Silk Mark Beauty Pageant.

The Finalists were selected on the basis of ‘Awareness on Silks’ , ‘Communication & Presentation skills’ and ‘overall appearance’ in ‘Traditional Pure Silk Sarees’ by Panel of eminent Judges.

The event was graced by Shri. Burra.Venkatesham, IAS., Secretary to Tourism, Government of Telangana State as the Chief Guest, along with  Smt. Deepika Reddy, Eminent Kuchipudi Exponent  as the Guest of Honour.

Besides winning the Title Crown, the winner and runners-up were honored with exciting prizes and gift hampers sponsored by   M/s. Manepally Jewellery  and M/s. Sri Krishna  Silks on 9th of March 2017 at Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium. 

Cultural programs in the form of theme songs, Classical Dances like Bharata Natyam showcasing the importance of Traditional silk weaving clusters, Temples of Telangana State enthralling the viewers through  the Telangana Silk Route studded with culture and serenity.
