Minister K T Rama Rao, conducted surprise inspections in the Industrial areas

Following complaints by citizens about the pollution around industrial areas in the city, Minister K T Rama Rao, conducted surprise inspections in the Industrial area of Jeedimetla in the early hour today morning. During his inspection, Minister visited Industrial Plants and inspected industrial waste water treatment plant, He also ordered the officials to take strong action against the Industries which are dumping the wastage illegally. Minister KT Rama Rao asked the officials to set up CCTV camera network connected to GHMC , PCB and police head quarters to keep eye at the illegal dumping into open nalas. Minister also visited the open nalas where dumping wastage illegally carried. Minister instructed GHMC and PCB to work together and conduct raids on such industries who are not adhering to the norms.

Minister also visited Pragati nagar lake and enquired about the local issues with the residents, He also instructed PCB and GHMC official to conduct a special drive for controlling the pollution and come out with an action plan for the development of the lake surroundings, A meeting under will be conducted with industrialists of Jeedimetla Bala Nagar and Bollaram, officials from GHMC, Dist Collectors and other officials to take part in the meeting with an agenda of curbing pollution. This meeting will take place on 18th of this month.

Minister also met the local residents and enquired about the grievances they are facing the area, Minister assured the residents that highly pollutant industries will be relocated outside ORR in the near days. In conversation with media, Minister told “We recognize and respect that these industries are providing employment but we won't compromise on the pollution hazards, that's we are asking PCB to take special drive"
