The National Institute of
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad, on June 21,
2017, marked the 3rd International Yoga Day in a grand manner. As
part of the Yoga Day celebrations, the NIRD&PR organised a day-long
programme on its campus at Rajendranagar, for the faculty and staff to raise
awareness on Yoga and its benefits.
The programme was
inaugurated by the Director General of the Institute, Dr. W R Reddy, IAS, at 7
am. Speaking at the event, the Director General highlighted the importance of
healthy lifestyle and healthy body. He said, practising Yoga is the best way to
keep the body and mind healthy. He also highlighted the critical contributions
of Yoga to the human well-being. He encouraged the participants to practice
Yoga.
Yoga Volunteers from ISHA foundation,
Hyderabad facilitated the sessions on the importance of Yoga and practice. They
demonstrated and facilitated the versatility of different Asanas under Upayoga to
a large group of participants comprising faculty members, officer trainees, PGDRDM
students and campus residents in practising a set of meditation and physical
exercises at the NIRD&PR campus.
The programme team comprised Dr. A.
Debapriya, Assistant Registrar (T), Er. P. V. Dayanand, Executive Engineer, N.M.
Naik, OSD, Murli Krishna, Manager Audio Visual,
K.C. Behra, PRO, organised the
same.
