Pushpayagam in Sri Govindaraja Temple

Sri Govindaraja Swamy observed Pushpayagam fete in a ceremonial way on Friday evening.

As per the scriptures, this festival is usually performed to save the earth from natural calamities such as quakes, cyclones, epidemics and appease the Lord to save the life of humanity, flora and fauna from all the catastrophes.

Tonnes of various varieties of flowers were used to give celestial bath to the utsavarulu on the specially decked plat form. This ritual took place between 1pm and 4pm.

Temple DyEO Smt Varalakshmi and other office staffs were also present.
