Dr. MCR HRD Institute Rolls Out Telangana Orientation Program for District Officers

Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana organised a “One Day Reorientation and Capacity Building Program for District Officers of Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Jagtial, and Peddapalli  Districts in the Context of Telangana” on July 18th 2017.  Dr. G R Reddy, IES (Retd.), Advisor to Govt. for Finance, said that Telangana is a pioneer in the entire country for launching a number of innovative mega developmental and welfare projects. However, he opined, their success depends heavily on the nature of quality of human resources. “While physical and financial resources are important in their own right, the quality of governance holds the key for unlocking the true potential of the State. ”Resources do matter; but more than resources, governance matters”, he said. “The dream of Bangaru Telangana will be achieved only when employees at all rungs of administrative hierarchy align themselves with the organisational goals and contribute their optimum best to their jobs”, he added. He stated that there are huge diversities, across districts and mandals, in terms of development and called for unique intervention strategies keeping in view those profiles of different districts and mandals.

Dr. Yogita Rana, IAS, Collector, Nizamabad District said that the widespread perception that the reorganisation of the districts has reduced the quantum of work is a myth; whereas, the reality is that it has increased the responsibility and accountability of the officers. “The training program will be considered successful only when the District Officers share their learning with their staff and bring about an overall improvement in the functioning of their respective units”, she added.    Sri Md. Musharaf Ali Farooqui, IAS, Joint Collector, Jagtial District said, with a sense of pride, that despite initial apprehensions about district organisation, the new districts are performing well and moving forward. “The healthy competition among the new districts is bringing in its wake multiple beneficial outcomes”, he added. Sri N. Satyanarayana, IAS, Collector, Kamareddy District said that acquisition of up-to-date knowledge and information by District Officers will result in developing new perspectives, improving positive attitudes, and enriching behaviour towards their clients. “Equipped with these core competencies, they can take the flagship schemes of the Government to the shore, safely and successfully. Sri S. Prabhakar Reddy, i/c Collector, Peddapalli District said that the reorganisation of districts has thrown up a number of challenges. He called upon the District Officers to understand the newer scenario in its true and total frame of reference, motivate themselves and their team, and measure up to the exponential expectations of  people.
