The
minister for the Scheduled Caste Development Department G. Jagadish Reddy
felicitated the toppers of NEET, IIT-JEE, CA-CPT and CLAT at the Secretariat,
Hyderabad, today. The minister said that the TSWREIS has been playing a pivotal
role in building Bangaru Telangana by providing quality education to the
marginalized children and winning the confidence of the parents. He said that
the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s support to the government residential
schools in the state has been unparalleled in the history of the education
sector in the country and the entire country is looking at the Telangana
government’s model of residential educational system, he added.
Speaking
on the occasion, the minister said that as many as 200 students of the TSWREIS
secured admission in the premier academic institutions in India and abroad in
2017. It’s a matter of pride that Mr. Anand of the TSWREIS has been
selected for the prestigious the Harvard University’s Summer Crossroads
programme. He congratulated the students for continuing their successful trend
in medicine, IITs, NITs, TISS and Central Universities for the last three
years. The minister said that the 72 students of the Operation Blue Crystal
programme (OPBC) are likely to join medicine this year. This is a
milestone for the TSWREIS as never before such a large number of students from
the marginalized sections got selected for the medicine.
For
the first time in the history of the TSWREIS, 12 students secured admission in
the prestigious Delhi university and one student in Vishva-Bharathi University,
West Bengal. Probably Sandhya Rani is the first
student to join the Vishva-Bharathi
University in the last thirty years from both the Telugu speaking states.
The
Minister congratulated the Secretary Dr RS Praveen Kumar for his hard work and
dedication in carrying forward the Chief Minister’s vision of providing quality
education and opportunities for the most disadvantaged children under the KG-PG
Education. The Minister appreciated the efforts put in by the teachers and the
non-teaching staff in preparing the students to face the global challenges and
providing education on par with the corporate educational institutions in the
state.

Chandrasekhar Rao, the Minister for the Scheduled Caste Development Department
G. Jagadish Reddy and Special Chief Secretary, Ajay Mishra for their
encouragement and support.
