Tirumala, 7 August 2017: Following lunar eclipse on Monday, the main doors of the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara were closed in a traditional way as per the tenets of agama shastra.
Speaking on this occasion, TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal said, the temple doors will remain closed from 4:30pm of August 7 till 2am on August 8. "After performing punyahavachanam, suddhi, the temple doors will reopen. The preparation of Annaprasadam was also stalled following Grahanam. So far a little over 39000 pilgrims had darshan of lord before the closure of the temple.
Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju, Temple DyEO Rama Rao, Peishkar Ramesh, VGO Raveendra Reddy, Parpathyedar Ramachandra, Temple staff and others took part.
