In Five days over 2.26 Lakh Pilgrims Offers Hair - KKC DyEo

Tirumala28,September2017: It was a 24 hour tonsuring activity at Tirumala on Garuda Seva day, as the hill  shrine was crowded with devotees at every nook and corner.

The DyEO Kalyanakata Sri Venkataiah told reporters at the Media center on Thursday that nearly 2,26,429 devotees offered their hair as a part of their wish fulfillment in  the last five days at the main kalyanakatta and nine other mini kalyanakattas . 

About 1400 barbers including 250 women barbers worked almost round the clock. TTD has modernized  four halls in the main kalyanakatta with better facilities and also supply of beverages.

TTD has supplied in all about 4.8 lakh blades, 520 cans of Dettol, 475 cans of Sodium Hypo chloride, 800 ks of  sandalwood tablets, 548 kgs of rubber bands, 2500 face masks for barbers, 3240 kgs of hand wash  material for benefit of pilgrims and barbers.
