Sadhu Subramanya Shastri Vardhanti Observed

Tirupati, 10 Sep. 17: The 36th Death Anniversary of great scholar, epgraphist, multi talented personality Sri Sadh Subrahmanya Shastry 36th Death Anniversary was observed by TTD on Sunday.

 

Garlanding the life size statue of Sri Shastry located opposite SVETA building in Tiruoati, the HDPP Secretary Sri Ramakrishna Reddy said, the life of Sri Shastry itself is an encyclopaedia for the research students. "He is not only a scholar but dedicated his entire life in the service of Lord Venkateswara by bringing to light the rare manuscripts and inscriptions on the walls of Tirumala temple in the form of books through extensive research.

 

While SVETA OSD Smt Chenchulakshmi said, Sri Sastry rendered services in Tirumala temple as Peishkar. "He brought to the fore the information embedded in 1167 copper plates and also some thousands of Annamacharya sankeertans to limelight", she added.

Later the TTD officials felicitated Sri Shastry's grand daughter Smt Girija Shastry on this occasion.

 

Vengamamba project co-ordination Dr KJ Krishnamurthy was also present.
