Chief Minister Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao had a meeting with the
Home Guards and announced several measures including the hike in their
salaries.
v Monthly salary is increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 20,000
v Every year increment of Rs 1000 per month
v Double Bed Room houses for all the Home Guards
v Health insurance to cover Home Guards’ families
v 30 percent additional allowance to the Home Guards
working in Traffic department like the Police
v Like Police Constables, Home Guards will get four pairs
of uniform per year
v Lady home guards will get 6 months maternity leave
v Male home guards will get 15 days paternity leave
v Home Guards on Bandobast duty will get diet allowance on
par with the police constables.
v Rs 5000 given for the last rites is increased to Rs
10,000
v Home guards to get treatment in the police hospitals like
the constables
v Reservation hike for the Home Guards in Constables recruitment

Civil :8
percent to 15 percent
PTO (Drivers) :2 percent to 20 percent
Mechanics :2 percent to 10 percent
SPF :5 percent to 25
percent
Fire Services :10 percent to 25 percent

Communications :2 percent to 10 percent
DGP thanks the CM
DGP Sri Mahender Reddy thanked the Honourable Chief Minister Sri. K.
Chandrashekhar Rao for taking several welfare measures including the salary
hike of the Home Guards. The DGP said the CM understood the problems of the
Home Guards who are working with meager salaries and responded in a
humanitarian way and took historic decisions. He said the Telangana government
has always taken measures for strengthening the police network and in the
process solved the problems faced by the Home Guards. With the decisions taken
by the CM, the home guards are happy and inspired and they would work with
double their vigor.
