Tirumala, 23 December 2017: The Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) counter implemented by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on a trial-basis from December 18 to 23 received overwhelming response from pilgrims circles said TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal.
The EO along with Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju inspected the counters in Tirumala on Saturday. At ANC counter he interacted with the pilgrims who thronged to book different slot tokens available in Sarva Darshan. The pilgrims welcomed the move of TTD which facilitated them free darshan of Lord Venkateswara within couple of hours without waiting in queue lines and compartments.
Later speaking to media persons, the EO said, the management will soon bring reforms in the SSD based on feed back given by pilgrims. "We have now observed that it is taking nearly 32-33 seconds to capture the photo and aadhaar details per pilgrim. But in future we want to reduce the time further by taking direct Aadhaar authentication as the advise of our technical experts and negotiate the same with UID officers to issue SSD tokens to more number of pilgrims. In future, we are contemplating to establish the counters in Tirupati also. Before we commence this system in a full fledged manner we want to assess the correct number of counters required to establish both at Tirupati and Tirumala, staff needed to run counters and invite works contract. Our aim is to see that pilgrims are not put to any sort of inconvenience", he added.
SE II Ramachandra Reddy, GM Transport and IT Chief Sesha Reddy, VGO
Ravinder Reddy were also present.
