Introduce Pancha Vaidyas During Vahanam Processions

 Tirumala, 2 February 2018: While lauding the elaborate arrangements made by TTD during the annual brahmotsavams last year and for the recently held Radhasapthami festival, a devotee Bhaskaran from Chennai, sought the TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal to introduce "Pancha Vaidya Melam" in front of Vahana sevas.

The monthly "Dial Your EO" programme was held at Annnamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Friday where in 27 callers from across the country brought to the notice of EO on various issue. During this program, a caller from Chennai said, Pancha Vaidyams which includes five instruments namely Timila, Maddalam, Ilathalam, Iddaka and Kombu used to be one of the most traditional and classical instruments used during procession of great religious festivals. The devotee said, it acts as a special attraction and is unique during temple fete at Guruvayur. TTD can also introduce it for its brahmotsavams, radhasapthami", he added.

Replying the caller, the EO said, recently TTD has also written letters to all the states across the country, to send their traditional art teams to perform during brahmotsavams. "At present only artistes from AP, TS, TN, Karnataka and Maharastra are taking part in our festivals. We are hopeful of more traditional art forms to perform during annual fete next year", he added.

Callers Siva Linga from Tamilnadu and Dattatreya from Anantapur sought the EO to introduce SVBC in Hindi also on the lines of Tamil and Kannada as many people across the country witness the programme. While Sivalinga also suggested EO to see that the entire Dial your EO programme be translated in Hindi.  EO said, the suggestion will be observed.

Srinivasa Rao from Tenali sought the EO to give a chance to the children who are not graded artistes to perform on Nada Neerajanam platform in Tirumala in the mornings as a token of encouragement and also during Annamacharya Vardhanti and Jayanti. The EO replied the caller that his suggestion will be discussed with concerned experts.

Another pilgrim caller Ramachandraiah from Kadapa sought the EO to construct a temple in their backward colony for which EO said, TTD has already taken up the construction of temples in SC, ST colonies in a big way. We have granted Rs.25cr towards the construction of temples in SC, ST colonies and also giving training to them in priesthood. We will definitely consider your request", he added.

When a pilgrim caller Sunil from Suryapeta brought to the notice of EO about the non-allotment of guesthouse in Sri Padmavathi area in Tirumala since he has no VIP recommendation letter, the EO said, there is no such restriction. If we have rooms available in VIP rest house area, we will allot you without any recommendation", he cleared.

While callers Madhav from Srikakulam, Smt Ramadevi and Smt Lavanya from Hyderabad,


Karunakaran from Bengaluru, another pilgrim Dr Raghunath Reddy asked EO on on-line dip system, for which he answered that the online quota has been giving transparent results and majority of pilgrims are expressing their pleasure over the system.
