Women Motorcycle Expedition

 from Telangana kick started 17000 kms cross country Motorcycle expedition on 11^th February from Hyderabad flagged off by Hon’ble Minister of Tourism Sri Chandulal , Secretary  Telangana Tourism Sri Burra Venkatesam. Their plan is  to cover Myanmar , Thailand , Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Bangladesh in seven weeks to promote Telangana Tourism & Incredible India. Bajaj Motorcycles have provided them with brand new Dominar 400 cc motorcycles for this expedition.

The team is also accompanied by four member production crew from Raasta films to document the entire expedition, two drivers from Telangana Tourism and two more members as support.

Riding close to 3600 km , the team led by Jai Bharathi successfully crossed the first border at Moreh in Manipur and entered Myanmar on 25-02-2018. In 13 days of their journey through  A.P, Orissa , West Bengal , Assam, Nagaland and Manipur , the team interacted with several people enroute speaking about the youngest and newly formed state Telangana. At the press meets conducted by India Tourism offices across all major cities, the team spoke about Telangana Tourism and particularly about safety for women in Telangana . Films on Telangana tourist attractions were played at gatherings and brochures on Telangana Tourism were distributed at every halt.

Few highlights :

1.       The team was welcomed by AP Tourism officials and good press coverage was done about this unique initiative of Telangana Tourism.

2.       The Expedition to promote Telangana Tourism was very well appreciated  by Dr.Mona Sharma,Secretary Tourism , Govt of Odishha and she flagged off the journey from Odissha.

3.       Similarly the West Bengal  Tourism officials have given enough support and felicitated the team.

4.       The team was felicitated and invited to showcase Telangana Tourism at  NER (I) ASEAN conference in Imphal.The Governor of Manipur, Her Excellency Najma Heptulla appreciated the team for this unique expedition to promote tourism.

5.       Regional Director for India Tourism North East Region, facilitated the press meets in North east and mentioned that all state tourism boards should start thinking about such innovative campaigns to promote tourism. They felicitated the team with specially made plaques.

The other state tourism boards in India highly appreciated the innovative thought process of Telangana Tourism on supporting Women Biking expedition for cross country journey with the state tourism bus. Four women riding motorcycles followed by beautifully wrapped Telangana Tourism bus was the show stopper everywhere.

Telangana M.P Mr.Malla Reddy was very kind enough to request Minister of External Affairs  Smt.Sushma Swaraj at New Delhi  to support this first of its kind women motorcycle expedition from Telangana. Following which MEA offices had written to all our Indian Embassies in the other countries the team will be travelling to.

The team is now in Myanmar and will further proceed to Thailand,Laos,Vietnam & Cambodia .
