Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam Performed

Tirumala, 13 March 2018: The traditional temple cleansing ritual "Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam" was performed with religious fervour on Tuesday in Tirumala temple.

A special aromatic mixture "Parimalam" is applied to walls, roof of entire sanctum sanctorum, sub-temples after cleansed with water jet. While the entire process was underway, the presiding deity was covered with a white veil.

It took over three hours for cleansing of temple and puja utensils. 

Later the veil on Mula Virat was removed and special puja was performed.
