Mahatma Pule Pioneered Women Education - TTD EO





Tirupati, 11 April 2018: Mahatma Jyothi Rao Pule pioneered women education in India with and his unrelenting efforts to eradicate inequalities in the society made him "Father of Indian Social Revolution" , asserted TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal.

Mahatma Jyothi Rao Pule 191st Birth Anniversary was observed in TTD administrative building quadrangle on Tuesday.

Speaking on this occasion, EO recalled the services and sacrifices of Mahatma Pule and advocated that taking forward the ideologies taught and practiced by Pule will be the befitting tribute paid to him, he observed.

Tirupati JEO P Bhaskar said, Mahatma Pule rooted out the social disparities prevalent in those days and was a visionary.

Speakers Siva Bhagya Rao, IRS Retired, Venkata Kishan, Divisional Administrative Officer , Manchiryala, Dr MM Vinodini remembered te tortures and sufferings he underwent from the upper class people in the society when he envisaged reformation.

They said Pule overcome all the social barriers and educated his wife Savitri Bai Pule and made her first woman teacher in the country by establishing first girls school almost some two centuries ago itself.
