Tirupati, 26 May 2018: As part of the Day 6 of ongoing Brahmotsavam Lord Govindaraja blessed devotees as he rode on Hanumantha Vahanam on the four mada streets on Saturday morning. The event was marked by teeming devotees, bhajans, kolatas and holy music as devotees vied with each other to offer harati to their beloved diety.
Hanuman, as a Rama Bhakta was also symbol of intelligence, success, muscle power, commitment, health, indispensability and personality. Hence he is utilised as vahanam by Lord Venkateswara as Hanuman is also a symbol of concept of saranagati in the Sri Vaishnavite philosophy.
Later in the morning Snapana Thirumanjanam was performed to the utsava idols with milk, honey, curd, coconut water, sandal paste etc. In the evening Vasantotsavam was performed and parade on Bangaru Tiruchi was conducted. The Lord will ride on Gaja Vahanam at night and enthrall the devotees.
Pontiffs Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, local temples DyEO Smt Varalakshmi, AEO Sri Udayabhaskar Reddy, Supdt Sri Jnana Prakash and other temple officials and devotees participated in the grand Brahmotsavam events through out the day.
Cultural programs:
There has been tremendous response for cultural, sangeet, and dharmic programs heldas part of the ongoing Brahmotsavam of Sri Govindaraja temple.
In the early hours the artisans of SV Music and Dance college presented Mangala dwani. Later the Smt K. Indira troupe of Tirupati rendered Vishnu Sahasranamam and was followed by Purana pravachanam. In the evening Artisans of Annamcharya project rendered bhakti sangeet at the Unjal seva and the pushkarini at the Sri Govindaraja Temple. The troupe of Sri G Madhusudhan Rao of Tirupati performed bhakti sangeet as well.
Later the Smt G. Krishna Kumari team performed bhakti sangeet at GR Temple pushkarini followed by Sri Burra Padmanabha sharma harikatha parayanam at Annamacharya Kalamandir
