Lord Govindaraja Rides on Suryaprabha Vahanam

Tirupati, 27 May,2018 : On  the  seventh day of  ongoing Brahmotsavam of  Sri Govindaraja Temple Lord Govindaraja  blessed the devotees by riding  on  Suryaprabha vahanam on Sunday morning. The event was marked by teeming devotees, bhajans, kolatas and holy music as devotees vyed with each other to offer harati to their beloved diety .

Sun god, is  a fountain head of energy and the key element of  nature as  he provided  critical support to plant life and also human beings and it was befitting that Lord rode on such a dynamic  force as his  vehicle .

Later in the morning Snapana Thirumanjanam was performed to the utsava idols with milk, honey, curd, coconut water, sandal paste etc. In the evening  Unjal seva  was performed and  the idols would be brought to Kalnayana mandapam and later return after the ritual of 'terachupu'. 

Chandraprabha vahanam will be conducted in the evening .Chandra  Moon God  is source of medication in the universe and hence is also a vehicle of  Lord . 

The sacred event of Rathotsavam will be conducted  tomorrow , Monday morning, -Day-8 of  Brahmotsavam when the Lord will adorn the ratham on Meena lagnam at 2.45 AM.  Later in the evening   the Lord will ride on Ashwa vahanam ,

Pontifs Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami , Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami , local temples Dy EO Smt Varalakshmi, AEO Sri Udayabhaskar Reddy, Supdt, Sri Jnana Prakash and other temple officials and devotees participated in the grand Brahmotsavam events through out the day.  

Cultural programs :  

There has been tremendous response for cultural, sangeet, and dharmic programs heldas part of the ongoing  Brahmotsavam of Sri Govindaraja temple  .

In the early hours the artisans of SV Music and Dance college presented Mangala dwani. Later the Smt P. Parvati  troupe of Tirupati rendered Vishnu Sahasranamam.

Later in the evening  during Unjal seva Smt Pavani Vishnatham team rendered bhakti sangeet . Later  the artisans  Smt  Lalita Shiva Jyoti endered bhakti sangeet  the pushkarini at the Sri Govindaraja Temple.The duo  Dr Chakravarti Ranganatham and  Sri K Rajagopalan rendered harikatha Upanyasam  at Annamacharya Kalamandir .
