WOW AWARDS 2018 - ENCOURAGING WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

The awards celebrates and recognizes the achievements of women in different walks of life. The night saw the presence of Shaleen Bhanot, Deepshikha Nagpal, Dr. Monica Kapoor, Neelima Azeem,  Smita Jaykar ,  Jayati Bhatia, Gurpreet Ghura,  Smita Bansal, Shubh Malhotra, Sajni Srivastav, Sonia Ahluwalia, Samina Korakiwala, Aditi Gowitrikar, Mrinal Deshraj & many more celebs.
Luminaries from different walks addressed the issue of women empowerment and emphasized that women empowerment, in the truest sense, will be achieved only when there is attitudinal change in society with regard to womenfolk, treating them with proper respect, dignity, fairness and equality.  One requires a completely transformed society in which equal opportunities of growth can be suitably provided to women so that they can co-exist with their male counterparts contributing equally in all the factors responsible for the growth of society in a larger sense.
Let us hope, women empowerment spreads to progressive as well as backward areas of our vast country.
Diandra Soares said “I think I get the courage from my parents, they allow me to just be ‘ME’ and I think I’ve shocked them over the years and also most of the people in India. If it wasn’t for them or their faith in me I don’t think I would be the person I am or would be allowed to. I am blessed by that & it’s also a little bit of genetics somewhere and mix. So yes, that’s where the courage comes from and I think being an Indian woman you need to be courageous considering what’s really happening in our country. So you learn to fight young & you learn to fight hard & you continue to fight pretty much every day.”
Smita Jaykar said "Very few people over here do such kind of programs which are for specially for women." Shobha creates these kind of programs were she taps into women empowerment, makes them feel important & helps them understand their needs & themselves. Smita completely supports her for this. She believes that every woman should find the power within, we all have it, the 'Shakti' power which she holds a strong faith in. She explains that she has an old connect with Neelima as they have been working together from good old days. Smita was fascinated to shared this memory of hers working alongside Shahid Kapoor and & Ayesha Takia when they were young kids"
