Tirupati, 22 July 2018: The annual Jyestabhishekam commenced on a religious note in the famous shrine of
Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple in Tirupati on Sunday.
Every year this festival is being observed in Ashada month on the advent of Jyesta star.
Earlier during the day Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to deities.
On first day, the veda pundits performed Kavacha Adhivasam, removal of armour on deities amidst chanting of veda mantras under the supervision of chief Priest of the temple Sri Srinivasa Deekshitulu.
