Hyderabad,
4th August 18: The 14th
convocation ceremony of Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management
(PGDRDM) of the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj was
held at NIRD&PR campus on August 4, 2018.
A batch of 52 students who graduated, received their diplomas from the
Chief Guest of the occasion, Shri P.H. Kurian , IAS, Additional Chief Secretary,
Government of Kerala. The Gold Medal for the best academic performance was
awarded to Mr. Ajit Kumar Rana , while the Silver and Bronze Medals were
awarded to second and third best performing
students i. e. Ms. Narisetti
Shruthi and Mr. Vipul Bhave respectively. Mr. Ahmed Rahim Khostai from Afghanistan
bagged DG Medal of best performer international student.
Dr.
W. R. Reddy, IAS, Director General, NIRD&PR, presided over the function. Smt.
Radhika Rastogi, IAS, Deputy Director General , NIRD&PR welcomed the Chief
Guest.

convocation oath to students, congratulated the entire 14th batch of
PGDRDM. In his inaugural address, the Director General said that success is not
obtaining degree or wealth , success is helping enough people and help number
of people and advised the students that
every day you create new thing and documented and we will use your
learning/ case studies in our training programme.

Additional Chief Secretary said the students that quality of product is important and its proper marketisation of locally available product. He also shared his experiences in Kalahandi drought and poverty mitigation in Odisha in his speech.

Dr.
A. Debapriya, Associate Professor, Centre for PG Studies and Distance Education
while presenting the course report of the fourteen batch of PGDRDM, shared the
programme objectives and main highlights of the 14th batch. He
informed that 99 per cent of the graduating students have secured good
placement in reputed organisations. The vote of thanks was given by Dr.
Akanksha Shukla, Associate Professor, Centre for PG Studies and Distance
Education.
